Both appear to be well down the pecking order at United and Liverpool respectively.
Now Koeman has put his cards on the table regarding Rooney...
But as a hypothetical question, who would you want to take a punt on for 2-3 seasons if both had no resale value once they finished their deal between Rooney and Sturridge?
To save it going into a contest of value etc, lets say both came on a free and both earned 50k a week.....which one would you prefer?
Either Rooney or Sturridge

Couldn't see Liverpool selling Sturridge to Everton

Even as a United fan I'd still probably have to say Sturridge then. The only doubt would be his fitness

These are the sort of things you need to consider when money is taken out of the equation.
Team moral, impact to the club, what he offers on and ft of he pitch(for both players)

Everton should try and get both. I've always had a soft spot for the toffees, and now, with your current team and manager, you're definitely the dark horse in the top 6. Would love to see what Koeman & co could do if you qualified for CL.
Good-luck this weekend.

If fit Sturridge. I haven't seen anything from Rooney of late that makes me think he'd be a good acquisition.

fitness - rooney
mental attitude - rooney
being a winner - rooney
future value - sturridge
goals if they ever GET fit - sturridge
most likely to annoy the rest of the squad - sturridge
amount of abuse away fans will give them - draw

I already stated that for discussion purposes the sell on value would be zero. They would be a free transfer and 50k wages.

I think it would be great for Rooney to join in (he would have to take a substantial wage cut of course) and it's also good for the PL that one of the most distinguished players is to stay put for few short years than to go to the far east - joining his childhood club would be a preferable choice.
But on the other hand - still surprised that Everton wants to bring him back, being slower and lost his touches - not certain he would start each week for an ambitious club like Everton, who are on a positive move?

My OP had a line....both came in a free and both would earn 50k with no resale value.
