Meant to create this article a while ago.
Whilst playing football manager as we (or some) may know there is sometimes a Brexit vote that goes thro in your game and this proved to be a pain in the erse for mainly for Scottish clubs.
I know its a game but the same rules apply. Prepare to see our game take a dramatic nose dive and struggle even further at least for a while.
It is gonna be far more difficult to sign foreign players once it goes thro' due to work permit rules, players must have played in at least 75% of its national team games over (i think) the last 20 games in order to secure a work permit. So this then means that we can say goodbye to unearthing gems as we will not be able to sign players from abroad before they have made it. It will also then drive the value of players that will be able to qualify for them which will also price us out the market.
In time I will assume it will prob improve the homegrown player development and talent pool however will hurt the smaller teams even harder as no doubt the Old Firm will be even more determined to hoover up anyone with even a hint of talent at a young age.
What do you guys think?
Brexit what does it mean for our game?

what i fear tho Smid is that for the first 5/6 years our game will be impacted the most. That is the sorta time period i think it would take before we start to see any improvement in our own domestic players after which point i bet there would then be some sorta work around for work permits and such due to human rights or whatever by which time our game will have suffered and slipped further down the rankings in europe etc therefore in long run not really actually benefit us at all.

What !! So the EPL will get preferential treatment over other U.K. Leagues ? Is that what you're saying ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why not? We're already seeing special deals being set up within different industries - look at Nissan as an example.
Many Leave voting areas have been desperately trying to secure special deals - and some have been successful in doing so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Achievable if the EU27 agree to it, and will be costly. The PL have the resource however to pay for lesser visa controls for their members.
In regard to Nissan, the ‘deal’ is more nonsense. It relates to market access, not visa controls.
It’s against WTO (state aid) rules for the EU/UK to negotiate different arrangements for different industries even if the EU/UK wanted to.

Silver
My post referred to the Nissan deal. I did not try to associate Home Office/WTO rules.
In that it is believed the UK gov offered Nissan a 'sweetner' to remain in the UK (as well as identical SM access post Brexit). EU Commission currently investigating as also breaches EU subsidy Directives.

For clarity suggest you read the WTO website:

Right, who on this board is the Falkirk chairman?

Clearly this is too coincidental.
