Hi guys long time lurker first time poster!
So i was having a conversation with a couple of friends last night and as it goes in anchorman 'it escalated quickly'
One of my friends said about Barcelona... "I wasn't that impressed by their trophy haul' now originally that was based on the total trophy haul but there was a little worming about and out of kindness i accepted that they (yes more than one person) were unimpressed with Barcelona's European cup trophy haul.
So I've decided to put this out to the masses to see the opinions of the outside world.
Question. Is Barcelona's European cup haul of 5 European cups, a record 4 UEFA club cups and a record 3 FIFA World Club cups unimpressive?

Only 5 teams have won the CL 5 times, of course it's impressive. The fact it's all been done since 1992 makes it more so, I'm only Madrid have also managed that.

Barca were a relatively 'small' club up to the 80s. Only when Nunez became elected chairman things started move forward. And the appointment of Cruijff kicked off their catch up with Madrid. Madrid are light years ahead though, already won the CL 10 times.

Their first 5 wins they had virtually no opposition during the first few years of the European Cup

Only 4 other clubs ever have won 5 or more titles, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Milan and Juventus.
So yes, it's pretty damn impressive.

That's just not true.
Their were 16 teams in the first European cup, winners of big leagues like Italy, France, Belgium, Portugal, West Germany, Netherlands.
Those wins were no less worthy than anyone else's European cup wins.
