.. when one of our defenders, Matip or Lovren, I don't know - I don't care either - without a Spartak player anywhere near him, on a high ball clearance, decides to head it back in the air? And gift it to the opposition, time and again?
Hendo interviewed, after the game, no sweat on him, good game by him though, was symptomatic of a team trying to walk the ball into the back of the net.
Karius. Need I say anything more?

The world and his dog are assuming we will get 6 points from the next two games against Maribor(?). With our final ball nothing is sure. By then, hopefully, things will get better.
Time to get back and give the Geordies the spanking of their lives. Again.

Sturridge should've come on a lot earlier and there was a lot of pressure on him when he came on.
Firmino isn't a week in and week out CF
And the defence once again cost us... I mean when was the last time we won 1-0?

By defence, I assume you mean keeper?

Jimmy you've said it all when you mentioned Karius
What in gods name was he doing for the free kick

1man
Agree about Sturridge but he looked awful yesterday when he came on. Should have kept Mane on so we had the width with him, Salah and Sturridge through the middle.
Another game where I question Klopp's decision to take off our best player.
2 positives, Coutinho played well in the midfield role which should suit him well and Henderson has his best game in ages.
I actually think our defence played well for once too. Moreno was good too again.

Goalkeeping error cost you 2 points.
I wonder how many points better off in all competitions you would be if Klopp had bought a decent keeper you would be over the last couple of seasons.

A very pertinent question indeed.

I do wonder this mtself.
A top class keeper would make a big difference. Mig is ok, but still has the propensity to panic and make silly errors. Any top class team needs a top class goal keeper. Karius is a disaster.

With Karius in the team all 3 results are possible against Maribor.

Karius was a highly rated gk in the Bundesliga. I read that he was rated 3rd in Germany behind Neuer and Ter Stegen. I cud see the sense in Klopp bringing him in to replace Mignolet as our number 1. Yes, Karius has made a dreadful start to his career in the Premier league. De Gea didn't have the brightest start either and took about a season of regular appearances to find his feet. I feel we shudnt write Karius off as yet and maybe with a more settled back 4 led by the likes of VVD who knows? Mignolet on the other hand, shud have been shipped this past transfer window.
