Cautious optimism abounds in abundance (?) as the Mighty Rams look to pit themselves against a team that we need to beat to prove ourselves as worthy contenders to being a force within this league........or something....
This is all about Ang's neighbours ๐ ๐ ๐ and we will hold Ang responsible if lose tomorrow.
Norwich are on a nine game unbeaten run and seem to be a team oozing with confidence. They are looking to cement their place in the top six and will do,this with a convincing display against Derby. So, no pressure then?
Derby have one injury doubt in Johnny Russell but the main debate is whether we continue with the 'home winning team' or go with a rougher 'away team' including Chris Martin and BJ?
We don't have a brilliant record against the Canaries at Norwich and methinks this will be a tenacious, tight affair. However if one side garages it from the off it may be embarrassing for the other.
Team news:-
Derby County: Carson, Wisdom, Keogh (C), Davies, Forsyth; Huddlestone, Ledley; Lawrence, Vydra, Johnson; Nugent
Substitutes: Mitchell, Martin, Baird, Pearce, Winnall, Weimann, Thorne

'Those who were there suggest that we dominated at 1-1 when you might have expected we would batten down the hatches and try to cling on. '
If you want a final thought, Heb, I can give you my perceptions of the second half, although I haven't run them past 2W first. With Nuge & CM on, Norwich were forced to defend deeper and we were more penetrative out wide. This pulled our play up to & beyond the halfway line and Huddz & Deadly had more space to work in than the first half. Norwich then had less domination in midfield and only got round the back of us a couple of times. One resulted in a great save from Carson the other, unfortunately in their goal, just as we were starting to dominate. After that, it could have been squeeky bumtime, but we got stronger and could (and should) have made it more comfortable for ourselves. Super scenes at the end and my best feeling since that opening 24 seconds, 2 weeks ago. Must say, it has made me feel 5 years younger today, but now I need to go for a bit of a lie down

Spot on Ang. I thought Vydra and Nugent were poor in the 1st half and wasn’t doing enough up front to stop Norwich from pressing forward. Half time change and Vydra off and Martin on. I’m convinced if Nugent hadn’t of scoreche was going to be replaced. Martin and Nugent pressing Norwich meant they had to play deeper which created more openings. Nugent misskicked a golden chance.hudd had 1 tipped over, Keogh had a chance saved. Martin could have shot but he unselfishly played it to BJ who’s shot was saved with Sam scoring the rebound. Abit more pace from Sam and he would have had a 2nd when charged down the keepers clearance. We could have been 2 down at half time but we could have won 4-1 very easily. Vydra can’t seem to play away so keep him for the home games. Lawerance got into areas that Ince has scored from but Lawerance doesn’t know what to do in these situations and neither crosses or shoots, he will improve on this and Derby will get the benefit.
Keogh was fantastic again

It still seems as though Rowett is trying hard not to play Martin and only turns to him when the starting forwards aren't working. It's hard to argue with recent results but surely Martin will now start at Leeds.

Northern Lights, stags roaring, and all is well.
I will keep the tale of the Uig shop and Jelly Babies until the next match thread.
