Been out with a few of em tonight and have to report they are a bit c0ccy at the moment, especially as they 'beat' Arsenal in the week, in much the same fashion as Forrest beat us They need bringing back down to earth.
It's the Norwich beer festival tomorrow, so if I can get the boy up in time, it's a chance to combine my 2 favourite pastimes in the world. 3 points on top of that would be like having extra orangey bits on the top of your jaffacake

I see us limping along trying to nick results until January, hoping the back six will be sturdy enough. Going to have to work very hard to get anything out of today's game. The balance is far from right in our team. Leeds were crap last night and Sheffield U deserved their win. The commentator said that since they switched to a back 3 last season they have won 70% of their games. Maybe Spart is on to something when he bangs on about formations being the key to everything. Both of our full backs look like centre backs playing out of position and are poor getting forward which restricts us and reduces options for Huddlestone when he is on the ball. Together with the two midfielders we are quite a static team. One way or another Rowett will need to address it.

I think it's all about player individual performances. against Hull every single player was on song and in any circumstances we would have beaten them. As it happened, all of our forays succeeded and seemed to result in a goal and we won 5-0. If formation came into it, it would be because all players felt inspired or at least comfortable with their lot in that particular game.

Everything we tried seemed to come off against Hull. Even in that game I thought we were a bit loose. That game was very much the exception in performance this season and the last two have been more the norm. Sheffield United have your hero Coutts running midfield and they have Sharp and Clarke up front, players who would not get within a mile of our team, yet they are top. It isn't just about the individual quality of the players, it's the way they play together in a style that suits them. The Blades were very impressive. A team can be so much greater than its parts sometimes.

Morning from the barricades. Not sure which flag to wave, so chosen a South African one because I like the colours.
Back before ko.
Come on you Rams!

Anyway, its a bit of a nothing day weather-wise here at pitch side. Wind due to pick up, to what Heb would call a light breeze.
What we dont need today are players flying into tackles unnecessarily, when we still have a foothold in the game. Fortunately, he will be on the subs bench for Sheff W.

I can see the sense in what you say Vidal but it still seems a mystery to me. I suppose that is why managers get paid so much and are changed like a pair of socks (sometimes)

In the meantime good morning to everybody and I sincerely hope things turn out well for Cat. Here Brexit looms ever more idiotic and damaging on a scale not yet imagined. And to think it is entirely self-inflicted.

Indeed it sounds like a hell of a kerfuffle over there and I hope things ('things' sounds so inadequate) are resolved. A step back is needed. Lots of "who's got the biggest willy going on"

Heb? When you are back from kennel duties, how did you come to join the brotherhood of Rams supporters? Chapter and verse please.

So were on a bit of a roll after a run of unbeaten in 5, only conceded a couple of goals in those matches and so it should be playing 6 at the back!

So picking up on discussions of formations, I believe the 6-4 formation will grind out a 0-0 draw.

Is midfield overated?

Sheepthrills, Rowett believes so. Stuck in the lake district on a foul day, today.

I think Rowett will be planning a "Cardiff" style performance today. A game we grew stronger in and should have won. I believe he will bring in Bradley Johnson and Chris Martin. Leaving Nuge and Vyds ready for a planned late surge to win the game. That's the plan...with the squad the way it is at the minute I agree with Vidal and its getting results whilst getting to January. Id take a point today but cant help thinking how big the 3 points would be today for everybody. CMON U RAMS!!!!

Vegetarian Scouse. That is not a Liverpool delicacy by the way.

What will we do come January to balance it though?

GR doesn’t seem to be a fan of the 3 man midfield so the missing Robbie Van Der Laan (which I think could balance us out) may continue to be absent. Is there a different type of striker (we already have a few) or winger? I think if GR was a fan of marauding wing backs we’d have seen Anya by now? Three at the back?

What’s the plan Stan?
