Credit to Wenger

Not going to have a go at the bloke, at least not today, but at least in the premier league he was the first to play a fast paced passing/possession game.
To have lasted as long as he did with the success he achieved on a limited spending budget, whether that was self imposed or not, speaks volumes for his footballing brain and he's left the club in a strong position to move forward without the pressure that various managers on the other side of town have had to endure.
United and Arsenal were rivals in the early 2000's and what I personally would like to see next season is Sir Alex and Arsene side by side in the directors box enjoying the game.

Just remember today isn't a day for snide remarks but a day to think about what he brought to the game.

Ah well it's a self-imposed vicious circle really.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, not self-imposed. We don't control the transfer market, or growth of other clubs, nor the rules that have been introduced regarding how much you can spend in comparison to how much you make.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was happy to take big money for players then moaned about the price he was asked to pay. Go figure
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He wasn't happy to take it, he had no choice.
And of course he moaned about the price he was asked to pay, we couldn't afford it.

Anyone who brought Denis Berkamp to my attention deserves the plaudits. Watching him play was a thing of beauty.

I think that was Bruce Rioch

Always thought it was Wenger, but not my club so fair enough...well done Bruce.

People forget the impact he had and the way he changed the attitudes about diet and lifestyle.

His teams played great football.

Did anyone ever see Fergie and Wenger at the lma awards that time hammered on wine laughing like school boys together it was quality.

Arsene is one of the greats of the game. How he's held himself together in these last 7/8 years shows the class of the guy.

Hated him when we were biggest rivals but always respected him for what he's brought to the league. A true pioneer and a true football man. Arsenal lucky to have him even if he's stayed a bit longer than he probably should have.

Wenger does deserve massive respect his teams played some of the best football ever seen in England.

£350m sat in the bank because Arsene started to run the club like Dev's Cornershop rather than M&S.

The fact he spent the last 2/3 years of his tenure criticising other clubs for Arsenal's failings has tarnished his legacy imo.
