I don’t think he’s left the club in a strong position at all, their team have a large amount of average players. And their back four needs major work.

I'd actually say they are in a stronger position than United were because the next manager will be able to build on the club rather than have to live up to SAF finishing on top.
He will be able to see the problems and sort them probably with less expectation than happens at Old Trafford.

Rebuilding is far easier from 6th than 1st, I agree with LEE here.
We have already started rebuilding for a new era anyway, with Mislintat and Sanllehi coming in and bringing their players into the club.

Then selling them on and making a profit, just like Spurs do and most of the clubs in the Prem.

he achieved on a limited spending budget

BS

It's the only reason he was able to get players like Cesc from Barca........offering unknown kids obscene wages
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It isn't BS at all.
His spending on transfer fees was drastically hampered by the mortgage. As a result the strategy he had to follow was to bring in the best youngsters, develop them into first team players, and then make a profit on them. To get them in we had to pay first team player wages to them.

That is just an unsubstantiated rumour.

It wasn't self imposed at all. It was a direct consequence of building a stadium and the financial restraints caused by it.

Depends what you consider to be a limited budget, compared to Spurs not really, compared to the teams we were trying to compete with at the time then yes very.

Anyone who brought Denis Berkamp to my attention deserves the plaudits. Watching him play was a thing of beauty.

Didn't have to build it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes we did, otherwise we would have been severely restricted in what we could spend!!

Ah well it's a self-imposed vicious circle really.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, not self-imposed. We don't control the transfer market, or growth of other clubs, nor the rules that have been introduced regarding how much you can spend in comparison to how much you make.

Wenger was on a budget between 2006-13, after that he was given a war chest which he failed to spend adequately.

He was happy to take big money for players then moaned about the price he was asked to pay. Go figure

He wasn't happy to take it, he had no choice.
And of course he moaned about the price he was asked to pay, we couldn't afford it.
