I think it’s a pity that they’re out. I always want to see the bigger and better teams in the latter stages. I have absolutely no interest in the likes of Iceland and other underdogs springing a surprise and making it through.

Yes, but if they have been knocked-out after three games it tells you they are not up to much and the ones who have qualified deserve to be there?

I can't remember us getting knocked-out early by playing great football?

I didn’t mention anything about whether they deserved that go through or not, just stated my preference.

Eh?? So we witness history where Germany fail to reach the last eight for the first time since the 1950 world cup and you ask why the rejoicing and mocking?!?!

Maybe they should just have an 8 team World Cup. You can decide which teams are in it.

It is quite embarrassing how it's still like headline news here in England.

I was in Amsterdam Airport yesterday when Korea v Germany was on. At the final whistle, the cheer in the bar was as loud as if it had been anywhere in England.

If I’m deciding which teams are in it that means you’re not deciding how many teams are in it.
