To the players and manager

We the fans could not ask for more.
Although we lost, you left it all on the pitch.

With a little bit of luck, we could have been through.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!!!!

Really proud of this team.

Massively underachieved? Daftest comment of the week.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you don't think City have massively underachieved in the last 11 years since the takeover? Not including this season.

Why is it daft to think that City should have more pots in the Cabinet?

What team has overachieved in the period that Pep has been in charge? Only then can you measure the achievement. Can't even think of one team tbh, that's how tough the PL has been in the past few seasons

if you watch the game till 92minutes30 ,that's the best thing to do,City won 5-3 at that point
not a single spurs player or staff thought that was offside
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What’s the relevance of whether any Spurs player thought it was offside or not ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good point! The ultimate opinion of only one individual matters, the one with whistle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not even a matter of opinion

VAR helped the officials arrive at the correct decision

He was offside

End of!

I’d take it with a pinch of salt, seems to be a new phenomenon to hold managers to account for absolutely everything.

Why the squabbling and why the jealousy?

Ok city won the lottery but you seem to forget the lean years when they were down in the 3rd tier of english football. Since then they have been taken over and have had lots of money, so what?

In the past Pool, utd, chelsea and even spurs in the distant past have spent god knows how much, its now part and parcel of the game.

Yes I am overjoyed that Spurs went thru of course I am but after watching the likes of Mourinho teams that bored people to death whats wrong with a team that play the game like city do?

IMO they play the game the way it should be played. At times when they attack they are nothing short of breathtaking, I know after holding my breath gods knows how many times last night.

I would rather have city around buying players that they want and need with the added bonus of their entertaining style than certain clubs who have god knows how many players out on loan just so that no rival can buy them.

It makes no difference to me who wins the prem this season and both pool and city have had outstanding seasons with both their managers doing extremely well and playing good football.

Why squabble over nothing, may the best team win I say.

Both Liverpool and City don't deserve any criticism...…Whoever wins the league, the loser can hold their head up and be proud of the part they played.

This thread just strikes me as a bit sad really. And I find it surprising Liverpool fans have joined in with the criticism.

Ripley,
Hopefully this won't add to your sadness but this is what fans do. Winning, and the bragging right that go with winning, are very important to true fans. Your "why can't we all just get along" tone is very admirable, but at the end of the day, fans will vent their opinions. This is much better than physically attacking the fans of opposing teams or smashing team buses. I'm sure that you will agree?

Can't agree with above. It's the triumphalism in the uneducated mob that leads to the criminal damage.

Globeled,

Nothing wrong with banter against a team / opponent you’ve just beaten, but this thread isn’t an example of that is it?

Spurs fans haven’t come in this thread to gloat. Fans of United and Liverpool have. They don’t support a team that won the tie the other night. They are fans who are just coming here to have a dig.

Yes, that’s what fans do, but I find it juvenile. Wednesday’s game was one that had everything, and fans of both clubs can take a lot from supporting a club that was actually involved in it.

As for the rest - the sad comments passing off as banter...

United fans I can to an extent understand - those are fans who don’t have a lot to cheer about in regards to their own team. But the Liverpool fans I just don’t understand.
