A good read on Cocu's tactics and football philosophy :

http://outsideoftheboot.com/2015/07/30/tactical-philosophy-philip-cocu/

I've also had a look at PSV's squad during Cocu's time and created a list of probable players he might consider. High profile players like Depay, Luuk De Jong, Winaldum obviously we're not going to get, but squad players or those that have seen their career dip since PSV days.

Oscar Hiljemark (midfielder)

Nicolas Isimat-Mirin (defender)

Jürgen Locadia (winger / striker currently with Brighton. Was a 12 million signing and been with club 2 seasons without pulling any trees. Best is getting him on loan).

Clint Leemans ( goalscoring midfielder)

Jordy de Wijs ( defender , currently with Hull. Comes from PSV with famous father and grandfather who played for Dutch national side)

Davy Pröpper ( midfielder - also at Brighton from PSV, highly improbable we'd sign him, possibly on loan)

Gastón Pereiro ( Uruguayan goalscoring midfielder, would take a big offer to get him from PSV)

Marco van Ginkel ( utility midfielder - saw a link in DET for this player too. Seems a bit injury prone and been on loan forever from Chelsea. Given the links to Chelsea and PSV makes it likely. Got a year left on contract)

Siem de Jong ( midfielder/ forward) - known for his time at Newcastle, went on loan to PSV under Cocu and from there to Ajax. Doesn't look like it worked , was on loan last season at Sydney FC. Injuries may have ruined his career.

Bart Ramselaar - (midfielder) just for that name alone!

Derrick Luckassen - (defender)

Sam Lammers - ( forward, scored 16 goals last season on loan to SC Heerenveen)

Maximiliano Romero ( Forward, would be a coup to get him on loan, 20, Argentinan striker. Was linked to Arsenal but injury cancelled the deal. )

Mauro Júnior ( midfielder, 20, not broken into first team , played a few matches)

Ferdi Kadioglu ( midfielder Dutch / Turkish decent, signed by Cocu at Fenerbache)

Be interesting if Cocu goes for any of the above, no doubt he'll have an eye on youth , also players coming from our Academy. I'd be chuffed if 3 of the above players were signed - cos you know you read it here first!

I know football fans are notoriously over-optimistic during pre-season, but look at how buzzing Derby fans are about Cocu, and what this season will bring (including me, and I’m a ‘glass-half-empty’ misery-arse). Meanwhile, on the Florest board, nobody has even posted an article to say they’ve got a new manager.

Forest supporters referring to our new Manager as 'Cocu the Clown.'

I am in awe at their intelligent sledgehammer wit.

Coco the clown......cocu the cl.... ahhhhh I see what they did there, very clever, one can only aspire to be at those levels of humour. I'll have a go though.......

Snottingham florest hahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaa nailed it.

Do you actually realise this is actually calling your pathetic 'humour'?

Its called irony, Dean. I assume from your name that you get irony.

But that's not irony

Yes it is. BTW, are you Alanis Morissette? She didn't understand it, either.

It would be if you hadn't called us 'Snottingham' and 'Florest' for the last 30 years I know to. You're obviously the one struggling to understand what irony actually is.

Apologies, I foolishly thought I was replying to a post on this thread, rather than addressing 30 years’ worth of cumulative banter. I forgot I was addressing an audience where 50 % were firmly entrenched in the past.

I don't think you get it either, do ya?

Seemingly not. Enlighten me, oh great one.
