Importance of William Saliba

First off this is not a Wum for the arsenal board. It’s the view of a few drunken lads who know nothing about football.

3 arsenal fans and 2 spurs fans sat at a pub arguing about which club is better for a 19 year old French lad who has played in a pub league.

What we all agreed on was if spurs make that signing then the power shift has firmly taken place. I like to think I’m a realist when it comes to spurs but like any other football fan the heart usually rules the head. By this I mean as of last season, had arsenal picked up a europa league trophy then you’d have a great case they would have had an eclipsing season over Tottenham with Chelsea also finishing above spurs too. Disaster.

This made me think that the power shift is still at a balance. We are definitely in the driving seat for sure but by no means a landslide.

Should we sign this lad it’s a huge statement for Tottenham that promising youth favour us for sure as well as marquee signings like Ndombele.

I wish I could say I prefer to look up the table at city and Liverpool and my concentration stops there but I have just as strong will to beat the arsenal as I’ve always had if not more now we are a better outfit.

For me the signing of this lad will give a statement to arsenal that it’s your turn to watch it all come so easy to your biggest rivals even though it’s so far from the truth. It’s taken a decade to get there but it’s fulfilled.

I understand finishing above arsenal 3 years running says a lot but I ask you do you think the power shift is settled? I believe a premier league title is reachable in the next 3-5 years. Which is when the media will give Tottenham the recognition we deserve.

Unless Spurs win a trophy there is no power shift. In 20 years time no one will be saying "Do your remember that world class Spurs side from 2016 to 2019 that didn't win anything"

I didn’t realise it was as many as 8 times. He might be quite good after all then!

Not quite seeing the issue with what I’ve put. Ndombele has only played in a pub league, didn’t he even play in the French equivalent of the conference before his break through season?

I’m not even having a go at Saliba being a bad player because of this.....

Strange comments but free to do so.

Van dijk played in Scotland which is ligue 1 equivalent. He turned out to be alright.

if you wanna play for a gud club, sign for arsenal. if you wanna play for a gud team, sign for spurs.

Tory need to transition kane + stay competing to be established

TrOpHiEs are completely irrelevant to whether there's been some sort of power shift as we've not competed for top honors in a decade. A few FA Cups mean nothing in the grand scheme of things for instance.

I'd argue the shift has happened and it's due to Arsenal having a worse manager, squad & stadium but mainly no money to improve - that's the crippling factor in all of this. Before you could call it a blip but from what I can see long term Arsenal are only going one way as we now don't have the funds to give ourselves a chance

If Spurs get Saliba will they loan him straight back
This was what Arsenal were supposedly planning to do
