Pogba still wants out

Paul Pogba’s brother was on Spanish TV a couple of days ago and said this..

“Paul wants to go. He can’t do everything at United.

“The player that Zidane is missing is Paul. It’s not impossible for Florentino to sign him.

“I can’t guarantee that Paul will continue at United. Until September 2, anything can happen. Madrid needs the football and joy that Paul brings."

Paul doesn’t do himself any favours with his agent being who he is and not coming out and saying publicly he’ll stay last week - and now his brother is adding fuel to the fire.

I doubt we’ll let him leave this summer but if closer to the end of the month Pogba puts in a transfer request and ramps up efforts to leave and Real throw a huge fee at us I wonder if the club would take the hit.

Real play Celta Vigo Away today which on paper is a tough game. Lose that and perhaps the pressure will grow on Zidane and the club to make this signing.

If he wanted to go he should have been sold at the start of the summer in order for us to get a replacement.

I very much doubt he'd hand in a transfer request now though. It's unfortunate these rumours but it couls just be a way of getting a new deal too. Shutting rumours down that he wants to leave weakens his position in that case. As fans we love to see players who show their love for the club but, realistically for some, it's just a job for them. As long as he's professional then we should keep him.

I wouldn't bet against new deals for both him and De Gea once Sanchez is shifted.

This could go round and round and turn into an RDD style all dayer

Stop acting like him then.

Stop thinking that a season without Pogba is 100% the worst thing to ever happen and we may meet in the middle

Ole has publicly stated numerous times that he is building the team around Pogba (in contrast I don't think he ever made any comments about Lukaku being a key player).

It was going to take silly money from Real Madrid (or other team) to convince United to let him go earlier in the window.
At this late stage and with no replacement possible, United are going to demand even more.

I think all parties are aware what it will take to get the deal done and the deal does not look viable.

Hope we keep him, there is no one of that level available, and that we are sure would sign for us (and Angel Gomes is not ready yet).

If a deal is done then I hope it's one that financially cripples Madrid.

Ole is talking out of his arsse or he’s daft. You don’t build a team around a player who wants to leave. He knows this, so is keeping the price high by making these statements..

It’s what he’s doing on the training pitch as well. Our midfield is built around Pogba, because he’s the only good one we have.

Wouldn’t be the first time. We built a team around want away Rooney, and gave him a rise.
Then did it again a few years later... well, the pay rise anyway.
No, Pogba got us by the short and curlies here.
He’s got to stay.

United won't sell him in this window. We can't replace him. It is as simple as that.

So:

Lukaku wants to leave and is allowed to = Ole made a mistake in selling without a replacement.

Hypothetically Pogba wants to leave when the club couldn't get a replacement and club resists = bad call on the part of the club.

Given that midfield is weaker minus Pogba (our most talented midfielder) than attack minus Lukaku (our third choice centre forward), it's hard to sustain this logic. Although I'd make this argument if I wanted to cast Solskjaer in a negative light whatever.

Bale starts for Madrid and not one new signing despite all the spending. Funny old club.

Hopefully he says this season like he is playing for aoce to Madrid then we can be rid of his nonsense.

It's quite easy to see through his guise.
