Pogba still wants out

He can’t do everything at United

I reckon most supporters would be happy if he just gave his all every game

posted on 17/8/19

And if we were to let him go where would that leave us?
A full season of Matic, Perreira, McTominay and Fred as our midfield options in a 50-60 game season is atrocious. Guaranteed not to get top 4 that’s for sure. We simply can’t let him go that’s for sure. I would have sold him 2 months ago. That time unfortunately has past and it’s another reason as to why the English window closing 3 weeks earlier than everywhere else is utterly moronic

These quotes come out once a week. Even after the game last week he was asked, and he was far from confirming his allegiance to United. But he won't be sold, and tbf to him, both in preseason and last week his attitude on the pitch was spot on. I fully expect him to leave next summer, but so long as he shows commitment til then, I don't really care what his brother says

No chance he'll leave this summer. United would have no midfield

We could drop Sánchez back into a no. 8 role - he’d be like a new signing.

If he saw how Lukaku did it, he might get his move

Wonder how a midfield of Fred, McT and Pereira would do.

Again, doubt we’d let Pogba go but if he really does want out I’d actually respect the club for selling him and taking a risk.

Doubt it. Playing worse than the competition for your place is not going to get you a move to Madrid when your midfielders are the ones we have.

Respect the club and taking a risk!!! No Robb. It’s not taking a risk it’s utterly ludicrous and would just come back to bite us on the arssse. This is another reason why we should have bought Fernandes or someone similar in case something like this happened.
And the Glazers would be looking at a huge big hefty profit from the summer after the shocker of a season we have just had

I genuinely would. If there’s one thing I’ve ever tried to convey on here over the years it’s that I only ever want players at United to stay if they want to play for us. Which is why when say, Fellaini and Lukaku both wanted out I hardly kicked off even though i supported them for years

If Pogba wants to go and IF he handed in a transfer request then of course I’d want the club to sell him. Why in the hell would I want him to stay? One season (maybe even half of) a lack of a Pogba in midfield isn’t going to be something that gives me any care in the world.

Robb, that is one of the stupidest things you've said on this forum. You'd respect the club for bowing to insubordination, selling our only creative force, and leaving us with no chance to replace him.

I have huge respect for how Bolton and Bury are being run. No justification or logic for claiming that, but what the hey?

What I'd have respect for is if the club said "Paul, nobody wanted you mate. It's probably based on your absolutely awful performances in the last three months of last season. If you perform as well as you can for the next 10 months, then you can go next summer"

posted on 17/8/19

as a caveat - when I say respect the club I do mean that if we sold Pogba for say £150 million I do expect them to reinvest that in the midfield next summer

If they took the money and didn’t reinvest in the midfield then I’d of course be mortified

Not sure about the ‘nobody wanting him’ bit

My scenario is based on Real making a bid and Pogba kicking off to get out. (Which of course may not happen)

If he does kick off and want out there’s no guarantee that keeping that version of Pogba will bring any advantages to us over the next few months.

You’re a good poster but on this you’re totally off the mark. I really don’t care as much as you think about Pogba being here this season. Good player but I really don’t think he’s that essential to keep if he ends up kicking off to get out.

as a matter of common sense we should reject any bid from madrid thi summer

if they so desperately wanted pogba they had the opportunity to do so before the english window did. To try to get him now is the ultimate disrespect to our club. If pogba his agent and madrid do not understand this i will rather see him rot in reserve for the next 3 years. And let's see if madrid still want's him then

Not really the same thing. I have no problem with Lukaku leaving - it was just that we didn’t bring in a replacement for him as we severely lack goals in the side. But he wanted to go and I was fine with that. You didn’t see me doing an article crying about it.

With Pogba, I have no issue with him staying. But if he hands in a transfer request and obviously doesn’t want to be at the club why would I want him to stay? I feel our midfield isn’t as bad as people think if he left and if we brought in a new CM in Jan I really don’t think the club would suffer too much.

I just don’t want players who don’t want to be at the club to stay. If Pogba does say or do nothing between now and the end of the window and sits out I’ll be fine.

If Pogba does hand in a transfer request and it does look like bringing morale down then of course I want him gone. I’m just surprised no one else would like him to go - is our midfield really that bad without him for 4 months?

oh btw i am a fan of pogba and i have been since he joined utd @ 15. I also want him to stay but understand why he wants to leave.

but at the same time there is a way of doing business and what madrid are doing should not be tolerated. It will also send a clear message for future signings that utd is not a club that can be used as a stepping stone to join the likes of madrid/barca. And those signing with that mentality will surely think twice before doing so which is what i want as a fan

Pogba or not, most clubs will be seen as a stepping stone to those Spanish teams.
