Robb you've been having pops at ole for letting lukaku go but yet you would respect the club for letting pogba go
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really the same thing. I have no problem with Lukaku leaving - it was just that we didn’t bring in a replacement for him as we severely lack goals in the side. But he wanted to go and I was fine with that. You didn’t see me doing an article crying about it.
With Pogba, I have no issue with him staying. But if he hands in a transfer request and obviously doesn’t want to be at the club why would I want him to stay? I feel our midfield isn’t as bad as people think if he left and if we brought in a new CM in Jan I really don’t think the club would suffer too much.
I just don’t want players who don’t want to be at the club to stay. If Pogba does say or do nothing between now and the end of the window and sits out I’ll be fine.
If Pogba does hand in a transfer request and it does look like bringing morale down then of course I want him gone. I’m just surprised no one else would like him to go - is our midfield really that bad without him for 4 months?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes it is. Have you seen the options.
Secondly you speak like getting a top Cm in January is easy. Who the feck we going to get in Jan especially if we are struggling massively in the league
1st off with the type of player Madrid signs im actually surprised their in for pogba still, a big name yes but what exactly has he done for us to justify the ridiculous figures being banded about, the guy himself said he pretty much wants out in the summer so its the clubs fault for not trying to get a replacement in
Not really the same thing. I have no problem with Lukaku leaving - it was just that we didn’t bring in a replacement for him as we severely lack goals in the side.
———
And we’d be selling our most creative midfielder and top scorer, without replacing him, from a midfield and team that sorely lacks creativity and goals.
The best bit about the comparison is that Pogba has actually acted professionally over the whole thing and Lukaku didn’t. Yet all we’ve heard is about Pogba being a virus, forcing a move and handing in a transfer request.

oh btw i am a fan of pogba and i have been since he joined utd @ 15. I also want him to stay but understand why he wants to leave.
but at the same time there is a way of doing business and what madrid are doing should not be tolerated. It will also send a clear message for future signings that utd is not a club that can be used as a stepping stone to join the likes of madrid/barca. And those signing with that mentality will surely think twice before doing so which is what i want as a fan
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pogba or not, most clubs will be seen as a stepping stone to those Spanish teams.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
well like i said there is a respectful way of going about it. they had a window to make it happen and chose not to do so.
a long time ago I used to question your rational as a utd fan, but I am well past that now. It is just like you to advocate selling pogba despite not being able to get reinforcement, when almost everyone else agrees our midfield is already weak

And yet again you’re missing the point. You talk about Pogba bring professional - and he has to an extent - he could very well have silenced the rumours by saying he wants to stay
But my scenario is based on him coming out and handing in a transfer request over the next couple of weeks. If he does that I want him gone. Just an opinion.
As for replacing the creativity - of course we’ll be a lesser side for not having Pogba - but I’d much rather a lesser side for a few months than keep a player who in my scenario hands in a transfer request.

They still do have a window though. Their window doesn’t end until the end of the month. They don’t owe us anything by trying to get Pogba before our window shuts. It’s business to them.
The real question here is - what United fan would want Pogba to stay if he handed in a transfer request?
People talk about this season being a free hit and yet a possible four months without one player is suddenly seen as slit wrists time. So many small minds not seeing that selling one player who wants out could actually better us in the long term.

Anyone could break their leg tomorrow. Bit of a stupid comment really. We all know we are lacking in the centre of midfield. Losing Pogba would just be the icing on the cake in the centre of the pitch and I’m not even Pogba biggest fan but he is the only player of quality we have there.
If Fernandes wasn’t good enough for us in Summer why would he be good enough for us in January? And why do you think SMS would be available in January? You talk like it’s easy to get these players

Wonder how a midfield of Fred, McT and Pereira would do.
Again, doubt we’d let Pogba go but if he really does want out I’d actually respect the club for selling him and taking a risk.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No you wouldn’t. Don’t facking lie.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I genuinely would. If there’s one thing I’ve ever tried to convey on here over the years it’s that I only ever want players at United to stay if they want to play for us. Which is why when say, Fellaini and Lukaku both wanted out I hardly kicked off even though i supported them for years
If Pogba wants to go and IF he handed in a transfer request then of course I’d want the club to sell him. Why in the hell would I want him to stay? One season (maybe even half of) a lack of a Pogba in midfield isn’t going to be something that gives me any care in the world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
WUM or otherwise, that’s possibly the stupidest thing you’ve ever written on JA606, Robb.
And I don’t say that lightly.
If he wants out that bad I'd just sell him and tell Gomes that he has the chance to take his place.
We wont sell now.
Probably sell next Summer. Maybe Jan if the offer is big enough
Read these comments last night and my first thought was "Well, all require is the £100m+ bid and we're happy to see him go..."
These La Liga clubs really do deploy a lot of dirty tactics to unsettle players in the Premier League, in hope they buy them at a much lesser value.
Glad to see Manchester United not caving in to any demands and dealt with his behaviour well. I'm sure even Paul knows, the club wouldn't sell him this season following our early transfer window.
He isn’t going anywhere this summer.
If the board even entertained the idea at this point, they’re more inept then any of us could ever have imagined.
So apparently Lukaku showed up at Inter weighing 104kg, and has yet to get within 100kg as requested. Being still out of shape, he will likely miss the first official Serie A game next week.
Lazy caaant.
I wouldn’t want us to sell him now for £250m, never mind £100m.
What would we do with the money? Absolutely nothing until Christmas at which point we might well be languishing mid-table, and then we’d be absolutely raaaaped trying to invest in an inferior replacement before the Glazers quietly squirreled the rest.
But Mike, that can't be true.
He's relentlessly used social media to tell us that he's in top shape and that United's training methods are beneath his own rigorous regime. How can he still be this big boned?!
Funny how everyone is missing the point yet in common everyone disagrees with the rubbish Robb has written.

People talk about this season being a free hit and yet a possible four months without one player is suddenly seen as slit wrists time
______
Yet ,and I repeat ,you were whining when lukaku eventually left

Wonder how a midfield of Fred, McT and Pereira would do.
Again, doubt we’d let Pogba go but if he really does want out I’d actually respect the club for selling him and taking a risk.

You mean you wouldn't respect the club in that scenario
