Tuanzebe

Putting all the other BS aside, how good does Tuanzebe look? He's fast, strong, good with his feet, positionally aware and good in the air, not brilliant but good.

If we sign a new left back, we won't have to worry about our back 5 for a very long time.

I personally think people are influenced by what they saw of AWB under Hodgson, a manager who doesn't want his full backs pushing on.

6 games is a laughable amount of time to conclude that he doesn't have that element to his game.

😂

Doesn’t want his full backs to attack? His left back scored the winner against us this season

So?

From what I've seen, Hodgson typically has at least one of his fullbacks sitting deep.

I don't watch a lot of Palace so maybe I'm wrong, but a full back scoring a goal last season certainly isn't evidence of that.

Do you watch Palace live? Because if not I’m not sure you can judge Palace and their full back situation tbh

I'll readily admit that I'm in no position to accurately judge Palace's full backs.

Unlike you, I can actually admit that there's many things I'm not qualified to know.

It was just my thought that his time at Palace may have affected their perception of what he can and can't do, and that six games at United is not enough time to show that he can play differently.

Sadio Mane’s technique has improved massively the last few years.

It’s really not true that players cannot improve those areas as they get older and get better coaching.

AWB may not develop his attacking game to the standard we need, but to suggest he can’t isn’t true.

Excellent one, surprised I forgot about him given a Liverpool fan posed the question!

The thing with full backs is that for them to have an impact in attack they don’t actually have to develop huge areas of their game, such is the expectation on the position. He has the dribbling ability and pace to provide an outlet already, so it’s really down to his crosses and cut backs. And that is obviously an area that can improved as he gets older.

It’s hard to judge the quality of his crossing and cut backs in this United team anyway. He’s put in some decent ones but he’s not really having much opportunity to for us given how bad we are playing.

There’s often nobody in the box to aim for. TAA is obviously vastly superior in these aspects, but I think he’d even struggle in this team.

I hope so. I look at someone like Hakimi at 20 and he’s a beast at attacking. Maybe a better manager will get more out of AWB

It won’t happen at United, by the way. We don’t improve players anymore.

I don't want width provided by fullbacks, I want width provided by wingers. Two of them and good ones at that, then the fullbacks can defend properly, and form a unit with the winger to control their side defensively and offensively.
