Crunch time for AR

I understand Clarke is set to be recalled by Spurs.

Whilst this isn't earth shattering news, it leaves a thin squad even thinner and with less options to come off the bench.

I wants happy to see Clarke sold but thought it was actually clever business to get him back on loan, clever because it released funds and retained what I felt was a potential match wining player.

It didnt make our squad stronger as some claimed, it actually only kept us standing still and seeing Clarke go now weakens us at a time when we need to be strengthening.

We've had an extremely poor record with loan signings since Bielsa arrived and I don't fully lay the blame at Bielsa's door but I don't understand why we sign players on loan and then hardly play them, it feels like a disconnect between Bielsa and whomever is bring these loans in.

Are needs to deliver this season and teh Clarke business could be symptomatic of his naivety around signing players, or, if Clarke goes and we bring in a quality player, who can hit the ground running in terms of being injury free, fit to play straight away and can make a positive impact to our team, then it could be a masterstroke.

This transfer window can make or break AR’s tenure at Leeds.

Agree with Jonty.

I've read over the last few days that Clarke and Eddie will be loaned back to championship clubs in Jan. Sheff Wed were mentioned as one team interested in one of them. Have a feeling if they are both loaned back to this division we'll actually see how good they are.

In other words, what a waste of talent sitting on our bench. The club got it wrong or MB's as stubborn as a mule when it comes to his system.

This already injury prone thin squad won't get stronger or less injury prone heading to end of season with two subtractions. I feel we'll get overtaken after the window closes and the other clubs finish their business.

Hope I'm wrong.

And the point is spot on.

We played January - May last season with kids on the bench and it was clear bielsa didn’t feel they were ready because they rarely came on. Now the same kids still have no game time and will be back on the bench.
Sheff Utd rotated 4 strikers January to May last season with a 5th in reserve.

Today it sounds like Clarke finished now, Douglas is apparently ill, Forshaw and Pablo injured. Shackleton and Roberts doubts.

We have only 19 players deemed starters which includes Meslier and Shackleton.

Do we set up a just giving page or have collection buckets and raise £250k and loan in a player for the club as others have done before lol.

I don't blame Eddie or Jack or their parent club's pulling them back from their loans. Must've been frustrating as hell for both last few months.

No way this squad can contend during the run-in with
WBA, Fulham, Sheff W, Brentford, Preston et al post transfer window, unless the club does something that
they seem unwilling to do: Add and play several top
quality players.

Why can't Bielsa sign his own players? He's supposedly the best manager about yet we've not given him the full backing. He has contacts everywhere and we've barely used them.

It's weird that Shaun. If this is the last season we have MB (unless we get promoted) why not go all in and give him a few hand picked (top for this level) players? Or is MB reluctant to weigh in on signings for some reason?

Going back a few posts, think Bielsa said Douglas is out today. Expect Davis to be on the bench covering LB.

Douglas on the bench

My understanding is that Bielsa has a say in all signings. He highlights the position then runs the rule over the options.

Cash determines who gets to sign for Leeds United.

Do you believe Bielsa said ‘get me Jack Clarke he is the key to winning promotion next season”?
