Leeds Utd v Millwall Matchday Thread

Here's the one we've all been waiting for ..........................since Saturday anyway
Millwall fresh from their FA Cup defeat by the blunts will be looking to take it out on us, and we'll hopefully make it a Yorkshire double for them

Venue ...Elland Road...Date...28th Feb...Kick Off 1945hrs

Team News
Leeds United
Ian Poveda could make his Leeds United debut after joining from Premier League champions Manchester City last week

But they will be without Kalvin Phillips, who begins a three-match ban, with boss Marcelo Bielsa already confirming that Ben White will come in, Latest news is that Tyler Roberts and Jamie Shack are back in contention so MB has a few to pick from.................Too soon for Augustin ??

Millwall
Millwall manager Gary Rowett has no fresh injury concerns after making five changes for the FA Cup defeat by Sheffield United.

Shaun Williams serves the final game of his three-match suspension.

(there's also streams on F/book and Twitter I believe )

Match facts
Leeds have won six of their past seven home league matches against Millwall, losing the other match 4-3 in January 2018.
The home side has won nine of the past 11 league meetings between Leeds and Millwall.
This is the first time Leeds and Millwall have faced on a Tuesday in a league match - they last faced on this day of the week in November 1988 in the Full Members Cup, a 2-0 Millwall win.
Defeat against Millwall would see Marcelo Bielsa lose four consecutive games in all competitions for the first time since April 2015 with Marseille.
Since and including their 3-3 draw at home to Cardiff on 14th December, Leeds have earned six points from seven matches; only Luton (1) have picked up fewer points over this period.
No Championship side have earned more points than Millwall (29 from 15 games) since Gary Rowett's first match in charge at the end of October.

So there we have it, Millwall sitting in 8th spot looking to improve on that position and ourselves (despite the latest hiccup) still second and looking to take Top Spot with this game, Nervy but i think we can do it, 2-0 th Leeds with Pablo and Alioski getting the goals (Bamford can get a few if he wants )

Over to You............................Predictions etc .....................................

"Theres going to be a lot of whippets and sisters in Yorkshire craving Anusol this evening."

That won't be the one sitting on his home bound bus sucking his tube of vaseline saying here I am come and get me will it?..

Read the Millwall forum and aside from the predictable profanity aimed at us what I was most shocked by was loads of their fans admitting we are a great side, deserved to win and they can see why we are top.

Never thought we would lose, dont like to have a pop at officials but that first half was as bad as I have seem for a long time, we going up as flipping champions

Early second half goal and we were always coming back, Millwall very very lucky with that pen, although I’ve not seen it back

Yeah, credit where it's due - they hate us but were in awe of that performance.

Macca, I’m not surprised. We really are a very good side despite the constant negativity on here by those that create thread after thread searching for reason after reason to justify their stance.

We are not perfect. We have faults. But so does every single side in this league. Not many have our brilliance though

Fair comments from this Millwall fan....clearly loves his team as we love ours....

Love the bit where he says he hopes we’re promoted....cos they’ve had enough of us 😂😂

I have to admit I thought the game was lost at 0-2. Lots of chances created again in the first half, but all of them wasted.
Given the two last seasons post new year breakdowns, and seeing the same pattern again, it's easy to get a bit frustrated, to put it mildly
