You are blind if you cannot see it is not a Union in any shape or form it is one part of a so called union calling all the shots how can anyone defend that? Honestly how can hey say its equal and why would you accept being in that situation and back it. Sycophants to London.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Go for it then.
Sort out your currency, membership of the EU.
Square away your debt.
But - the big questions are constantly not being asked of Sturgeon - what is the big plan - why is there never a document produced which outlines Scotland's way ahead?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Has the UK squared away its debt.?
If Scotland has a share of the debt, it also gets a share of the assets. That would include the currency.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Eh? The currency is not an asset. It’s an expression of monetary function. It can’t be just divided up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
An expression of monetary function.
Very good.
So what makes you think England would own this expression of monetary function.

England don’t own it. The U.K. does. Scotland wants to leave the U.K. The U.K. will still exist albeit in a smaller format.
Scotland can’t just arbitrarily decide if it’s own accord that it will pick and choose what “bits” it wants to keep, especially if it devalues the remainder of the union.
Now in so saying I believe fwiw that the U.K. will work with Scotland on the currency issue as it will also affect them significantly during any transition period. There’s also making it much easier to continue trade between the largest trading partners.
However once and if it starts to devalue because of the split then there will be a time limit on it.
Again however I think the transition period would make the Brexit one seem like a brief passage in time. It’ll take a decade or so.
Just my opinion of course.

Had mentioned on another thread Scottish independence is made much harder in a post brexit environment.
Scotland would need to align itself with the UKs regulatory framework and join a customs union with England and Wales. Which kinda defeats the purpose of independence.
If Scotland rejoined the EU (which appears to be the direction of travel for nationalists) there would have to be border control posts between England and Scotland. A 'hard' border if you like.
Which would be disastrous for Scottish trade. Would actually be beneficial for NI/Scottish trade as per the NI protocol

The currency question is contingent on a UK existing without Scotland. Personally I'm of the opinion if Scotland were to leave, the UK would break apart fully
England would likely inherit successor state on things like UN, although I doubt it retains veto rights. I'm not sure if England control over the £sterling is nailed on.
If the UK limps on then sure, but I reckon without Scotland England has little reason to even want to remain in union. Maybe I'm wrong

Well you are right - everyone down here is sick and tired of the wee bawbaq and wishes she would just p!ss off.
I really can't believe my fellow Scots vote for this without seeing a coherent and viable way forward.
She has produced nothing.
