Although there are a few good ones especially on here, it's amazing how many Rangers fans blindly follow the union like sheep no matter how much corruption flows from Wasteminster.
The push for independance remains flawed, with holes in how this all might be delivered . But the idea is more appealing than continuing to be irrelevant in a union built, only, to only serve London.
I take offense to the PM who continually ignores a large number of voters who want to challenge if we might govern ourselves. And yet the PM refuses to acknowledge the right for Scotland to decide for ourselves.
Westminster's priority is to keep control. And the PM must be fearful of losing substantial control. But more importantly the political fallout if indi should happen. Think of the backlash. After turning it's back on the EU, it loses a founding member. It's a terrible outcome however you report it.
If Scotland breaks away, then so might Wales. And England and Westminster might then go from ruling in the UK, and a major player in the EU, to becoming irrelevant in Europe, and a big player in possibly a much smaller UK.
That's not to say England couldn't re-establish themselves globally. But they might finally find out what it's like to be treated like an irrelevance.
They could learn what it is like to not be able to push partners around and have control of the board.
I think a big reason why the SNP have had control for so long in Scotland is the percieved self serving nature Westminster has in England. Similarly the SNP really stands up for Scotland. If independance is the price for equality, I believe this country could be willing to vote for it.
The issues I still have with indi is the many unanswered questions about what independance might look like if delivered. Questions like currency, banks, foreign policy, trade, EU partnership, border control, pensions and taxation to name a few bigger issues which the SNP peculiarly have not provide details on. Now the SNP have a mandate to ask for a section 30, it's time these questions are finally answered, before a referendum is called. Let's learn from the Tory's botched Brexit , and spell out clearly what we will be voting for. So any result cannot be questioned. Also, define what an acceptable result would look like for each scenario so the result can have some meaning and bring closure.
Self determination is a good thing. Scotland should he able to chose who they want to associate with.
People that carry out sheet like windrush and then make reports to say there is no racism, and that don't care about climate change or any social or political evils and only want to help big business and give them tax cuts and government deals in exchange for money or favours like new curtains, make their cronies and family members rich and hemorrhage global influence so China can continue to completely take us over because we are looking inward and putting Britain first.
Utterly corrupt regimes that at the same time justify cutting funding to fight AIDS, put children in school, provide clean water by using the same corruption excuse as an excuse for doing so.
That, or join up with entities that see themselves as part of a system and actually want to improve themselves and the world and try to genuinely do something about stuff. The good guys.

Haha - what exactly do Scotland and Wales from a financial perspective, bring to the table?
Neither country would've been able to have sustained 'furlough' for this long.
Have you read up on the criteria for joining the EU?
Have you read up on why her keeping sterling as the currency won't and can't work?

It’s time limited mate. There eventually has to be a plan for Scotland to have its own currency or maybe join the euro.
If sterling is used in Scotland which is then viewed by financial institutions the world over as more of a risk and investment retracts then it will in turn devalue sterling overall. The Bank of England won’t tolerate that and will demand a break. You can’t just “latch” on to a separate country’s currency.
In so saying I’d imagine that there would be a 2-3 year period to adapt any required change.
It’s one of a number of fundamental questions that the SNP must answer.

It’s the central bank of the U.K. and dictates rates of exchange, mortgage and loan rates along with pretty much everything financed through the U.K.
If Scotland leaves the U.K. it automatically leaves this institution.

It does indeed Ginger and for me its a con, but when I weigh up the pros and cons I support Independence. It will probably boom at first then settle into tough times but the end game allows my children to have a country of their own not a nation where their voices can be drowned out by legislation from London.
Its worth the pain and upheaval.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And I completely understand, agree and respect that.
For me I just would like some essential questions answered or at least a semblance of a plan. Just anything to hang our hats onto that is more than blind patriotism combined with a complete disregard for anyone’s questions or concerns.
Anyone asking a simple question or querying anything is just seen as some kind of traitor or is demeaned and shunned from quite senior people and leaders. That can’t be right.

Not from me, questions have to be answered 100% but questions also have to be asked.
When I say that I mean not just at the SNP/Greens but at all parties.
From the pro side the first question should be 'why should we believe a word you say when the last time you lied through your teeth with your so called vow and have not been taken to task for it'.
The 2nd question should be why should Scotland be part of a one sided union where the support for the governing party of that Union in Scotland continues to be very low.
I would like to see those questions answered and not danced around from the unionist side.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Again I agree. And indeed why trust a government who essentially turned their backs once they achieved their goal?
I do think this time it’s being taken far more seriously and hence the multi billion investment plan and levelling up. Proof will be in the pudding as always.
I've said it here before, my backing for Indy isn't as basic as being pro-indy, but because I'm anti-status quo. It just does not work for Scotland, and I don't think it particularly works for any of the other constituent nations either. In general I'm very pro-decentralision (so obviously SNP centralising everything to Holyrood isn't ideal for me either), and I think that can be achieved in many ways not just indy. I could probably be easily convinced by a serious federalism structure that gives equal say to all nations on a slimmed down federal level and the bulk of responsibility devolved. Unfortunately I just don't see any of the "big" UK parties backing anything like that, which ends up with us in a polarised union vs indy situation, with indy being at worst the least bad option IMO.

Indeed. It's an inefficient nationalised industry like most of the others.
It is the Central Bank of the United Kingdom. The fact that it is even called the Bank Of England tells you something about the inequity on the UK.
Where in statue does is say that an independent Scotland would leave that institution. Where does it say that Scotland would lose its shareholding in that bank.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Haha - what exactly do Scotland and Wales from a financial perspective, bring to the table?
Neither country would've been able to have sustained 'furlough' for this long.
Have you read up on the criteria for joining the EU?
Have you read up on why her keeping sterling as the currency won't and can't work?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why wont keeping sterling work?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s time limited mate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Succinctly summarised.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And completely fabricated.
What is the 'Bank of England' exactly?

Unfortunately I just don't see any of the "big" UK parties backing anything like that, which ends up with us in a polarised union vs indy situation, with indy being at worst the least bad option IMO.

top insight and debate '55' you really are a clown shoe. You bring nothing to the debate of any note apart from your obvious ershole POV blinded by hatred for anything not draped in a Union Flag.
