“Man Utd contact Ernesto Valverde over interim manager role"
Unexpected news this morning but this seems to be doing the rounds. If the club don’t want Potch I guess an interim is the only viable option.
I don’t know much about Valverde other than he’s won the league with Barca.
Can’t say I’d be especially excited about this.

He's a good option. We don't want to be saddled with the wrong man

I know, I was just mucking about...
He did a great job at Espanyol with mainly academy players because they were stone broke. I think at one point they were the Spanish top flight team with most academy players in their first team squad, something like 13 or 14 if memory serves.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be clear, I'm writing from a position of ignorance. I know nothing about Pochettino's time at Espanyol other than received wisdom says he was highly regarded. And I only found out about Valverde taking them to the Uefa final when I Googled him last night!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair dos. I don't know whether Ten Hag would work out at United or not, but I do know that every horse Robb backs is bound to end up as hamburger meat.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And you can take it to the bank. It's my Ja rule. If I am on Robb's side of an argument I am wrong.

I did not back LVG. Ole is still the best manager we've had since Fergie. I like my position. The next manager is going to see why Ole is the best manager we've had since Fergie.

On balance I'd rather have Ten Hag as well, but the way UWW ignorantly throws around the 'loser' tag, brushes away the reservations about ETH not being suited to United's lack of structure by saying he wants us to import Ajax's structure (wishful thinking of the most deluded kind) and generally paints what is clearly gut feeling as a categorical black/white, good/bad dilemma has me rooting for Team Robb against my better instincts.

Rather we do this and get ten hag. Don’t want Poch the serial loser
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Serial loser because he didn’t win trophies with two small clubs Espanyol & Southampton and came runner up in the premier league and champions league with Spurs who spent £5m a season net during his full 5 seasons? You’re obviously clueless that about what constitutes effective and consistent coaching; why not get Bobby Martinez instead, he won a cup with Wigan afterall.
