Some thoughts from yesterday

Most important thing, 3 points.

Thought that Watford carved us open at times and we looked quite ponderous at the back, Watford had a few chances they just didn't take advantage of.

Cooper clearly steadies the ship, still feel Llorente is a bit of a liability, Dallas a but quiet these days.

I'm not sold on Koch and he's not really getting a run in anyone position, but thought Klich did very well and Philips coming back into team just makes us so much more solid.

Still not seeing end product from James, well taken goal from Raphinha but who stood out for me yesterday was Rodrigo. I've been sorely disappointed by the player for his price tag, but he knows where the goal is and needs to be played up top more.

Marsch using same players Bielsa did and I would like to think Bielsa would have gotten results in these easier run of fixtures but nothing guaranteed of course in football.

I think we've been really lucky v Norwich and Wolves and even yesterday the scoreline flatters BUT we are getting the points and that's really all that counted in our situation and for that Marsch deserves credit.

The free flowing cavalier football might be a thing of the past along with Bielsa and I'm not quite sure what comes next, its looks like just normal football if that makes sense.

Next season I would send Someville out on loan to L1/Champ, let him get some proper football under his belt and then see what happens.

We need a proper replacement for Raph if he's going, I'm taking marquee signing, proven, right age and ready to get us goals and assists, a game changer.

Why league 1? Wouldn't surprise me if Drameh is voted Cardiff's player of the year, has been their best player over the last few weeks. Summerville and him formed a good partnership, had a good understanding.

I wasn't even talking about Drameh?

I really don't think Poveda is a replacement for Raph!
------
Come on, did you really think that was serious?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Lol - yes!
I must admit I thought you'd lost the plot there, when it was actually me who had!

I'm quite a literal person, though I might have got it if I'd spotted your ....... at the end!

See thats the issue with an 18 man squad that Orta likes. Kids will always be needed to fill in gaps. We havent got a big enough squad to loan players out.

Raph replacement = Helder Costa
Llorente’s best position - possibly the Rhinos

JM doing the best he can with what he has inherited, look better defending corners, not as Cavalier as Bielsa but still entertaining!

JM has lost the games he should have and won the ones he should have. i think bielsa would be on the same points or thereabouts. the thing is players like rodrigo and raph had shown they dont like to man mark. a shame really but bielsa did all he could with this group. in a perfect world he would have finished the year and left in the glory the best manager we've had in decades deserves.

Hopefully the club invite Bielsa to iether our final home game when we are officially safe or if not our first home game next season, in the Premier league of course, and the fans will be able to show the great man their appreciation.

Agree Mont! Seemed a strange decision to let Bielsa go when we had a run of winnable games coming up and key players coming back.

I’ve no doubt Bielsa keeps us up, such a shame his legacy was tarnished given all he had done.

On the bright side, Jesse was coming in regardless and he’ll start the new season with some experience and will know what he needs to do in the summer.

No I didn't express myself well, I was flagging up that if Drameh is back at Thorpe Arch, given their understanding, it would make sense to have them playing together rather than loaning Summerville out. It's not always the best route, the loan market. Summerville doesn't need L1 he'll get kicked to bits.
Actually I am reading that Rangers are in for Summerville.

I wrote a post at half time in the Spurs game that the Bielsa era was over. Dallas' miss said it all. He had given everything and he was spent. Look at the video.
It's so painful when you recall his brilliant finishes against City away just a few months earlier.

It still hurts to lose Bielsa the way we did. We miss the flair and the fabulous goals, served up to us week after week. It was an unforgettable banquet, but every feast must end.
Leeds under Marsch is a different animal, but it is built on the foundations laid by MB. The players are growing into it week by week. Winning ugly at Watford was a jolt to the senses, but it worked. That was a nailed-on loss under Bielsa of this season even if it would have been a better game to watch.
