The more I look at it, the more Djed Spence is definitely not worth 20m. We could argue nor is Richarlison worth 50m plus add ons but at least Richarlison started for a prem team and was bought for 43m so that's a 20% profit by Everton.
Djed Spence technically isn't the best RWB at his club in the championship with one breakout season.
What summarised the over valuation for me is that wingbacks such as Zeki Celik and Dumfries and Clauss and Kostic and Dodo would all cost less than Spence and they are all established internationals or top flight players for their respective leagues.
I dont think Meunier or Pavard would be far off Spence valuation either
The British Luxury Tax takes the pi55.
Personally, I don't mind the waiting game until Boro come to their senses, be interesting to know hoe much Boro value Isiah Jones if Spence is 20m. Maybe he's 30m.

Apparently Gibson quoted Forest £12m but as soon as we went in he wants £20m+. He is taking the P, but that is probably a consequence of dealing with Levy before, what goes around comes around.

This is similar to the Sessegnon deal from Fulham, we paid way over the odds for him too, we should be looking for someone who can step straight into the team and it's not Spence

From my pov, Spence has pace, speed and a great attitude and he links up very well
If you were to look at his stats, he is not great, the eyeball test suggests otherwise.
The downside is he can get easily marked out of games by a decent coach; which we (Forest) witnessed a few times last season; notably the playoff final.
However we were very one sided in our attack last season so stemming the threat from the right side was an effective tactic.
Is he worth £20m? Remember we sold Matty Cash to Villa a couple of seasons' ago and most fans rated Cashy as better. He went for considerably less than the figures quoted here.

When you watch Spurs play with their wing backs, there are plenty of times when they are just in wide open space or are free to make runs into the box while the ball is on the opposite flank. A quality attacking wing back could have a field day in our side i reckon.
Agree on the fee, their £20m valuation does not stack up against comparable sales

He's just doing what any good chairman looking out for the best interests of his club would do.
They will sell. They dont have to sell today to tomorrow, the last day of the window will probably do, so they stick their big price on him and wait.
Levy in the past has been happy to wait to get the best deal but you get the sense there is more urgency this season to get players in pre-pre-season, Boro probably know that so really they hold most of the cards. Forest no longer in the market for a RB so thats them out of the equation, so helps us.
