Nadiem Amiri

I read that he visited Leeds at the weekend and that he would have been happy to sign but he wanted a contract that stipulated that if we were not promoted, at the end of the season, he would be free to walk away. That he wasn't prepared to spend more than one season at a tier two club.

Farke and his team, are all about commitment and given what went on last year flatly refused to entertain this as an idea.

Quite right as well.

But, just imagine, he is that missing piece in the jigsaw, the spark that ignites our season, a sliding door player, with him we go up without him we don't.

It's a thought isn't it? surely they are talking to him because they think they need such a player to mount a realistic chance at promotion.

I’d rather we didn’t sell Rutter at all

Rutter - My basic understanding of FFP says we need £28m for Rutter to balance the books, but it could be less as the £35m was with add ons…what happens to the add ons if we sell?

They go away, the point of add one is you only pay them if the player is a success

I thought it was quite obvious, what I read was that Farke pulled the plug because the terms he wanted was four years but an option to walk after one if we don't get promoted.
We were talking to him to get us that promotion, if we don't bring in players such as Amiri, settling instead for second rate options surely we are not likely to get promoted.
Is the fear of repeating what happened last year with unfavourable contracts, going to stifle any opportunity we have to bring in better quality players like this guy who want to put options into their contracts that will make it easier for them to leave should their desired outcome not happen.

Not obvious at all 🤷🏻‍♂️

You say Farke, has rejected this idea.

And in your words “quite right too”

So what are you trying to say 🤷🏻‍♂️

Seems like the long and short of it is "damned if you do, damned if you don't."

Phil Hay…. “Club frustrated by additional demands made in discussions.
Flew him over but declined to pay for flight home. Deal dead.”

Love the… “declined to pay for flight home” …he has seriously piddled Leeds off… that’s one hell of a Klichism 🤣

Must be frustrating to waste a week on this guy. For him to fly over, you’d think it was very far along - personal terms everything agreed already.

Hope we’ve got backup options ready to go

Left back is the main priority for me.

Being originally from Essex, well Oldham really but lived in Essex growing up, I have a lot of old Spurs supporting friends, asked them about Spence, one wrote back "Spurs bought Spence and virtually never played him. I think he may have off the field problems". Not sure what that means but it rings alarm bells.

I think we dodged a bullet with Amiri - the German paper Bild describes him as 'arrogant, spoiled and unreliable'.
