Take a look at my post history and I've been saying here from the first day of the season the best thing United fans can do is MASSIVELY tone down their expectations.
8-10th place is about as good as ANY manager could get this United team sorry to break it to many of you. There is just soo much going wrong top to bottom.
The takeover saga
The injuries
The lack of quality in the squad
The loser mentality top to bottom
The clueless recruiting department
The absolute shambles of facilities in and around OT.
And of course a manager who hasn't got a clue.
I said from the start of the season United for the next 2-3 seasons need to get used to being just outside the top 6. They need to act like a club that is aiming for top 6 and spend as such and most importantly the FANS need to get used to this reality.
Doing the above will lift massive pressure of whom ever the next manager is and the next set of players. This should benefit all concerned as it will allow the manager and the new players enough time to build a style of play and identity. It's the only way out of this mess.
