In defence of Brennan Johnson

He takes a lot of flak from the fans but he gets the numbers in terms of goals and assists. Goals win games in case anyone had forgotten that. He's never going to be Messi but he's fast and has a knack of being in the right place at the right time to score. This is a very underrated quality and fans usually say 'He only scores tap ins'

Yes his all round game needs work but if he keeps getting this amount of goals and assists, or improves on these figures, he'll continue to be a valuable member of the squad.

Deli Alli's all round game was never brilliant but he scored 18 Premier League goals in his breakthrough season and if he had kept getting those numbers, no doubt he would have stayed or even moved to a bigger club.

Yes we over paid for BJ but that's nothing to do with him. I'm looking forward to seeing how he develops and I'm glad he's at Spurs.

Definitely can upgrade RW over him, don't care that he's scored more than anyone else, it's still not great, he's non-existent in far more games than not. No guile, too easy to shake off and doesn't go at his man anywhere enough that winger should do.

Maybe he will improve but he's not a teenager and this is his second season, he wouldn't be first on my team sheet. Super sub.

Hoping Ajayi could be an option in the future. He fits the bill for the RW, but at 19 there hasn't been noise around him prior to his goal in the ropey.

Probably needs a loan next season but wouldn't mind seeing him again. Would be great if he really stepped up again, if called upon.

I would like to see BJ employed CF or Left Wing. He is right footed and played for Forest in those two positions as well.

He just does not look confortable on the right wing. Scared to take someone on and timid. With his pace, he does have some he needs to be tried in a different position.

We need a left footed player on the right wing.

Fully agree with this. Imo he needs to be considered for LW

On the right, he cannot do anything whatsoever in open play. His game is fully reliant on getting on the end of things

Even though he’s not a dribbler, at least on the left the angles are better for him to go either side

We badly need a left footed RW and, even though it will be difficult, we surely have to go all out for Mbuemo this summer. He plays 90 mins every week for Brentford, is a good age, is strong, can dribble and is a goal threat

Even our young wingers are all left sided (Moore, Odobert, Yang)

So, need a RW this summer as well as at least one CM and CB

Agree about Mbuemo but playing 3 times every 7 or 8 days will test him as opposed to a game a week at Brentford.

Him and Dibbling would compliment each other well.

He should have had another crack on Sunday when kulu was having a shocker, poor bloke is facked

I want to see Moore on the left….he plays so much better there

Agreed Father re loaning him, bring back Donley from Orient at the end of the season, send Ajayi off there.

Donley isn’t good enough for the spurs first team yet. Not sure on our current obsession with having teenagers in the first team, it’s making us worse

Hmm, I understand what you're saying, equally, the crop from last years U21's are a talented bunch as proven by their championship winning and cup winning team. However, the step up from there is huge, I think Donley has earned the right to be given a call up to our subs bench and minutes here and there integrating slowly.

Having said that, I hear Devine has been playing well also PLUS, and this will divide opinon hugely, Solomon has been far far too good in the Championship and done excellently at table topping Leeds?

Donley is playing in league 1 and Devine is playing in the Belgian league. Next season they need further loans at a higher level before we think about considering them for the first team

Solomon is a better player right now than both obviously and was always gonna do well at championship level. He’d previously played at CL level at Shaktar and PL level with Fulham. Whether he’s good enough for spurs is a different story, personally I’d still look to sell

Before walker was a first teamer at spurs, he had a PL loan with Aston Villa

Before Danny Rose was a first teamer at spurs, he had a PL loan with Sunderland

I could go on

Nowadays people wanna just chuck players in who have no experience at a high level and then wonder why he aren’t as good as we used to be

We're not as good because we have had to play youngsters, those few youngsters however have stepped up well, been the only positive to come out of this schiit show.

I hear you re the possibility of a championship level loan for both Donley and Devine, you don't see PL loans much these days. Both Donley and Devine have the physicality aspect on their side, they'd cope with the step up, certainly to Championship level.

Re Solomon, I only mention him because he's better than what we have currently in my opinion, certainly better than Johnson for me but going forward, yeah, wouldn't be upset when he's sold as long as we do get an upgrade.

Donley in my opinion would do well for minutes from our bench, he has the physicality for the step up

Strangely, I don't recall him winning a one on one race with a full back.
