For a generation of football fans, Arsenal’s most famous league title came on a dramatic evening at Anfield in 1989. For another, younger generation of fans Arsenal’s most famous title came just over twenty years ago- as Wenger’s men managed a whole season unbeaten and became The Invincibles.
It’s slightly odd, however, that the passage of time has seemingly allowed Arsenal’s 1991 title to become very ‘under the radar’ as it were. Stats actually show that the Arsenal 1991 title winners were a far superior outfit to two years previously. Most of the stats when you compare them, if not all, do indeed point to the ‘91 side being vastly greater than the ‘89 conquerors of Anfield.
George Graham’s side finished comfortably above a top level Liverpool side to make it 2 titles out of 3. Arsenal also boasted the longest unbeaten run, spanning 23 games! Furthermore that 90/91 team lost only one game all season, which again vastly improves on the 1989 team.
Why is that side and league title so underrated? It certainly baffles me.

Utd is a poison chalice & has been since Fergie left
He started the ball rolling by insisting Moyes took over

We just need to appoint the right manager and within 2 seasons we’d be back. It’s that easy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If only it was that easy. You've money problems, players on long contracts who won't leave and a really weak squad. You could employ a hybrid of Pep, Sir Alex and Bill Shankly but without the right players and backing from the board in the transfer market - you've no chance.
Your stadium is a mess as well.

Not as much as spending all that money to become a relegation battling team ouch ... thats the sorta thing that would drive away casual fans to go and support another team.......

na, it was at the time, but that was nearly 15 years, I think were over it.
but 1, at least when we were a chequebook team we had success to show for it.
2. even with all that trouble I still didnt end up supporting my rivals instead.
what team will you be supporting next year
