Injury crisis vs out of injury crisis

Deep in injury crisis - Fulham at home to Leicester at home = 11 games, 1 win to the 2nd worst team in PL history, 8 losses, 2 draws

“Once we get a couple of players back it will help them enormously." Ange after defeat to Leicester at home.

Out of injury crisis - Man city at home to Villa away = 11 games, 1 win to the 2nd worst team in PL history, 8 losses, 2 draws

By the way, if we lose to Brighton on the last day, we'll be the team with the most ever losses that never got relegated in PL history, under the 20 team format. This when the bottom 3 are statistically the worst in PL history themselves as a collective.

I've never known a more incompetent, useless, hopeless, awful manager. But let's hope he wins on Wednesday.

I agree he’s the worst manager we’ve had but I wonder how many times in those 11 games we played close to our strongest line up.

I’m guessing not much although I doubt we’d been much better off with tactically inept Ange
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I doubt it was the very strongest line up in most games but more than enough players were available to do better. I mean we had those 3 wins on the bounce before the majority of injured players started coming back for this really awful run we're on.

I actually think we'd be on a poor run even without the Europa run and Ange playing a full strength team. Same thing happened last season without Europe looming over us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Europa run shows what a brilliant manager Ange has been. Knew the Prem was done in November, so completely dissed it off. Preferred to concentrate on the 14 game Europa to get to the final, where he has handled the team absolutely perfectly.

Ange.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How stupid are going to feel when you're beaten in the Ropey league final?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How stupid are you going to feel when Spurs win a trophy and end up having a better season than Woolwich bottlers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This makes no sense. I'm not the imbecile with the new novel theory that one of the most expensively assembled squads in Europe should be content with relegation form if they could win a couple of Europa matches against Bodo/Glimt and co. Since you're the one with this new dumb theory, it begs the question of how stupid you'd feel if you don't actually win the trophy for which you believe your entire domestic campaign should be sacrificed. If you lose the trophy and end the season on 38 points, 17th in the table, how stupid would you feel?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That they have only won a couple of Europa matches!!!! They have played 14 matches you gimp. Not that you would know with Woolwich only in European footie to make up the numbers. Arsenal and European football should never be mentioned in the same sentence.

No it shows what a fortunate manager he is. Many things have gone for him to be in this position.

For one Levy decided for the first time in his life he's not going to sack a manager who is in danger of missing out on top 4. AVB, Poch, Nuno, Jose were all removed cause form was dodgy and top 4 looked like slipping away. Top 4 slipped away since December this season but Ange has been kept on.

Secondly, the bottom 3 have been so atrocious this year that they've made it so we don't need to focus on getting relegated, we can concentrate solely on Europa.

Thirdly, the Europa is pretty damn weak. We could win the competition and we will still have beaten 4 stronger teams to reach the CL final than just winning this one. Shows the difference in levels.

A better manager would be able to navigate better results in the league and still progress in the EL. If he doesn't win it then it will show what an utter failure he is and binned off the league for nothing, although I would argue he's just crap and couldn't get much of a tune out of these league games anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's not weak at all you idiot? You wouldn't be saying that if Ange wasn't the manager.

Take it you won't be watching the final if you think the competition is craaap.

Spurs don't buy £100 million players to win SFA.

No. They only spend £378m under Postecoglou to finish 17th.

Sis, I wouldn't trade a single one of our 13 league titles for a single one of your 2nd and 3rd tier European trophies. Not one. You make up the numbers like anyone else.

Again, you fackwit, do you think Spurs are the 1st team in Europe to juggle a European campaign with a domestic league season? City won the treble just 2 seasons ago, pipping us to the title and winning the CL. Do you know how facking reetarded you sound making it out like you have to be in relegation form to overcome the might of Bodo/Glimt etc in the Ropey league?

So its Postecoglu versus Amorim on Wednesday, is it?
I would not bet on either of them, so.....
probably a draw and a penalty shoot out!
Who wins THAT, do you think?

Even since the injury crises eased, Spurs have not been playing their best team in the Prem. So the amount of losses is irrelevant. I doubt Spurs have played anywhere near their best XI in the Prem thus season in more a handful of games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't understand this "best 11" crap. Some players are dropped depending on the form of others (like Porro or Udogie being dropped for a then in-form Spence, which many of you supported) and other than probably Kulusevski, any one of your midfielders can be dropped game to game with rotation - seeing as none of them is Zidane or Xavi. You keep giving these reetarded excuses like Spurs are the 1st team in Europe to juggle a European campaign (with the best draw to the finals a team could get) with domestic competition. What has stopped you playing "best XI" since January? A couple of matches against AZ, Eintracht Frankfurt and Bodo/Glimt is the reason you're playing like a relegation team?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It takes an Arsenal fan to drop a truth bomb like this. He's completely and utterly right. You can say we've rested players but when you look at the games we've rested them for, it's most certainly not an excuse for the relegation form. Not even close.

Is he though? If you shift aside the fact he's an Arsenal fan, what he's saying is entirely right. You shouldn't need to sacrifice league form in order to get past Alkmaar, Frankfurt and Glimt, certainly not when you compare the finances of those clubs to us.

Also in reference to something Sandy said earlier about not seeing many other teams getting to a Europa League Final - that's largely because of the good fortune of avoiding CL teams for the first time. I saw a stat the other day that said around 75% of EL winners were those that dropped down from the CL - completely logical and a surefire reason why we're now in the final. Getting there isn't some heroic performance, it's the least we could have expected from an expensively assembled side.
