Stephen Torpey has been appointed Academy Director of Manchester United, to lead all aspects of the club’s youth development system.
Torpey joins from Brentford, where he has led the rebuilding of the Premier League club’s youth structure, including the relaunch of a full Academy programme from Under-9s to Under-18s.
The UEFA A licence holder has almost two decades of experience in elite Academy coaching and management, having previously led Academy coaching across all age groups at Manchester City and the Foundation phase at Liverpool.

All I’ll say is he’s got huge shoes to fill in given how successful Nick Cox was for us, wishing him the best of luck because our academy was the only shining light left for us since Fergie left.

No idea who this guy is, but looks to have good pedigree and experience.

Just read that Nick Cox is staying in position for a month to ensure a smooth transition. Looks like it has been well handled, and reinforces the impression of Cox as a class act.

Thank God the new guy's name is good for puns, as Cox was offering nothing in that regard.

Good signing if he produces the Class of 2025, terrible acquisition by Chemical Jim and not fit to put sheets of paper onto Nick Cox's clipboard if not.
I have never seen him coach.
