Labour claimed that they inherited a 22 bln blackhole,
But now Rachel from accounts has grown it to a 70bln + blackhole and now everyones tax will be going up
An amazing feet for the self proclaimed economist
But, according to my maths, Government borrowing is now exceeding 20bln a month that is 240bln a year, and we are paying over 110 bln a year interest ?
So we are borrowing to pay the interest
+ plus increasing our debt because we do not have enough income to pay our state upkeep
So is the blackhole really 70bln + the money we borrow ?
Because if we didnt borrow the government wouldnt be able to spend our tax take on what it does ?
Very strange set of affairs imo.
Just thought Id share that.

How big is the blackhole?

Kier Starmer and his cronies are the biggest bunch of clueless wanquers ever to run a government
You thought the Tories were bad - these clowns will sink the Country
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My gas and electric Bill's have halved since Labour come to power. Still to high, but I don't have to take out a mortgage to service them.
I am definitely better off last 12 months than for about 15 years. Tory Press like to spin doom and gloom whenever Labour are in power.
That said I shall be voting for Corbyn's new party. But only because of the Gaza Genocide. Labour and especially Tories and Reform are doing nothing to stop it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
your gas and electric bills have halved 🤣😆😂😆🤣
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now I know you are not the brightest bulb in the box, but even you should be able to do a bit of simple mathemetics to show how electric/gas prices have gone down over the past few years.
Here are a sample of a couple of my bills over the past three years, monthly payments.
2022
Dec £290.02
Jan £252.51
2023
Dec £228.38
Jan £233.15
2024
Dec £164.54
Jan £191.97
In fact every months is considerably lower over the past three years.
Now I will let you work out out how £290.02 a month in Dec 2022 is lower than £164.54 a month in Dec 2024.
Over to you Einstein.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
🤣 since labour have come in they have gone up.
Fact
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have just given figures to show they have come down.
I know you are pretty dim, but how can £164 under Labour 2024 be higher than £290 in 2022 under the Tories? Explain your stupidity.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The energy price cap for the average home up to June last year was 1568.
It is now currently 1720.
Facts.
Check Ofgem.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't need to check Ofgen you dozy t*at, I just check my Bill's to know they are a lot lower than 2022. I also fixed my energy costs two years back. So price caps mean SFA to me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
the amounts I posted are from Ofgem.
These are the average cost per household in the UK.
They have gone up as I said
Why you need to insult people on an anonymous forum is actually quite strange but also quite telling.
I’m off now to my local Italian restaurant, enjoy the rest of your day.

Sandy,
Just out of interest what can you not afford now, that you could afford say five years ago. Have you given up your car? Have you had to downsize? Have you stopped
going to football and taking holidays? Have you given up your expensive phone? Stopped Sky subscription?
Only saying everyone is worse off is a myth perpetuated by the media. Clearly there are some still in poverty. Always will be. But the majority of the country is still living a very decent lifestyle compared to a lot of earlier generations.
===========================================
Well where do i begin?
I run my own business & live rurally.
Personally we as a family have had to reduce the number of vehicles we run, as the related costs are impossible to keep with.
I cannot freely employ as many people as my business would need to provide the services we supply.
My business costs are rising month by month, my profitability ratio is decreasing.
Our monthly shopping bill is growing by the month.
Our council tax has gone up 10% and i receive the same appalling service. My vehicle service bills are huge in comparison to what they were.
Our water bill is now a significant bill.
I am awaiting a procedure through NHS, im in my second year, my health is deteriorating .
My tax burden is increasing.
Capital gains tax has increased.
This government is considering numerous tax increases, that will ensure that we will pay more tax on income & assets we have already paid tax on.
These are a few of the cost related issues that are building in my world as a small business owner with a family.
We do not get to travel as a family on holiday every year.
I cannot afford to travel to London to watch CFC play any where near as I previous would,.
I can assure this is no myth perpetuated by the media, it is the reality for many in this country and we consider ourselves fairly capable to cope.
To be frank with you to suggest that the issues of this country are blown out of proportion by certain groups of the media says more about your limited scope of how you form your opinions.

The UK does need to reform its political system and & more immediately how this country is being run.
Lets start with a full unbridled reassessment of
Why, How & Where we spend our tax take.
We have difficult times ahead.
Totally remove & row back on our totally financially unrealistic & unachievable current Carbon zero agenda.
Reassess our legal & illegal immigration policy.
Remove any spurious legal & illegal immigration applicants / application going back 5 years.
Slash the annual welfare bill.
Remove all monthly borrowing saving 200bln a year.
=========================================
So Sandy, where are you with the tax take ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Even though I am a pensioner, I still pay tax. If you want services, you have to pay for them. I have no problem with the current tax system. Although they could tax the rich more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You aren’t a pensioner you’re sad pathetic coward

So you are not exactly on your uppers then. You still live a comfortable life. You don't exactly live on a council estate do you? I myself used to run a small business in the early 1990s. I also had cashflow problems. That's just the way of the world. I had to adapt, so will you. I am sure you will survive.

Sandy, I don’t think it is to much to ask that our tax is spent wisely , for the benefit of the whole nation, the less fortunate as yourself and the new to be born.
Acceptance of a failing state and ending up in poverty is not what My family get up for and go to work.

Tax could always be spent better. But the number one thing all tax should be spent on his public services. Sadly it often isn't.
