Does make you wonder where all that tax money goes.... Apparently income tax alone gives the government ~300 billion a year.
From various other sources on the web and AI, they take around a trillion a year in tax. Mad when you think about it and the countries billions of pounds in debt still..
A gap of 70 billion sounds like peanuts to what they take in from taxes.

What do I suggest should be done , oh that’s very simple.
It’s not rocket science
First this government should look at where , how and why the tax take is being spent and then re evaluate on what the tax take gets spent on.
First priorities should be for the benefit of the UK public services and essential infrastructure.
In the world I live in, if I don’t have enough money to run my household I cut my cloth accordingly.
The biggest issues are :
The size of the welfare state , doubled since lock down 300 bln & rising.
Investment into a Nett Zero ambition, which is totally unaffordable & un- achievable at this current time.
A tax system which is not pro growth.
The rate we are borrowing is unsustainable & borrowing money to pay interest on the money we owe is the route to a failed economy.
The UKs infrastructure needs to be rebuilt, dare I say reforming along with our political system , both are broken.
Anyway enough of what I would do , what would you do ?

First this government should look at where , how and why the tax take is being spent and then re evaluate on what the tax take gets spent on.
First priorities should be for the benefit of the UK public services and essential infrastructure.
In the world I live in, if I don’t have enough money to run my household I cut my cloth accordingly.
The biggest issues are :
The size of the welfare state , doubled since lock down 300 bln & rising.
Investment into a Nett Zero ambition, which is totally unaffordable & un- achievable at this current time.
A tax system which is not pro growth.
The rate we are borrowing is unsustainable & borrowing money to pay interest on the money we owe is the route to a failed economy.
The UKs infrastructure needs to be rebuilt, dare I say reforming along with our political system , both are broken.
Anyway enough of what I would do , what would you do ?
