Anthony Pilkington call up??

After seeing Norwich a few times this season, both Houlihan and Pilkington look good players.

I don't see Trapatonni calling either of these players up for the play-offs but if we do qualify I'd love to see Pilkington given a chance in a friendly to see what he can do at international level. He's played for the U-21's as far as I know.

I'l also love to see Houlihan recalled to the squad. A creative midfielder and good passer of the ball. Something we are badly missing.

"Check your facts bro!"

Are you being serious?

Celtic are in the group stages of the Europa league, Einstein. The difference is this is the first time an Irish team has ever got to the group stages, while Rangers, Celtic, Hearts and Aberdeen have all been there and beyond, and there's a Scottish side there every season.

I think you'll find it's more important to Scotland, as Ireland has a few sports that are more important than football. As big as you think you are, Scotland have produced nothing in Europe for ages. Ok Einstein?

And celtic only there through default.

I don't think Scotland are "big", I'm simply pointing out that an Irish football fan is in no position to describe Scotland as a joke nation, and that statements like this:

"as for irish league, its still better standard that your cr@p"

...are absolute nonsense.

As a Celtic and Ireland fan, im embarassed by BarcelonaNil. Firstly by a complete lack of knowledge.

"Gimme a shout when an Irish club gets anywhere in europe" - Not much to say here. Other than a couple of uefa cup final appearances, there isnt much to go on in the last 20 yrs.

"or starts producing players for its national side, then we can chat." - now this is complete nonsense. Many of irelands players haev come through the LOI.

Scottish clubs' record in Europe is immeasurably superior to that of Irish clubs. That was the extent of my point, and it's an indisputable fact.

2 Uefa Cup Final appearances in the last 10 years may jot be much to shout about, but it's light-years beyond what any Irish club has achieved.

Of course most irish players start off at Irish clubs, but how many get caps while at Irish clubs?

My point, which I am happy to repeat as many times as necessary is that this statement:

"as for irish league, its still better standard that your cr@p"

...is absolute garbage.
