What Fabregas has done today is pure class.

Fabregas today did eveything Barca did not want him to do. They clearly wanted Cesc to push hard for a move to Barca. Unlike now, Cesc last season did what Barca asked him to do and he went to Wenger and said he wanted to leave. All this was leaked to the media. Cesc did his part but Barca did not. They failed with a limp bid and Wenger and the board made short work of Barca's bid.

Cesc is clearly still hurting from last season and is simply not going to repeat the saga. With Fabregas going public about being happy to stay, the board can make sure if Barca really do want Cesc then they will get every last penny. His contract still has lot of time on it and the player himself is not as intent on a move as before. The only way Barca could have got Cesc on the cheap was if Fabregas broke all ties with Arsenal in public.

But today Cesc has again shown just how much he loves us. Most Arsenal fans can understand why he would want to leave but Cesc again is going about it the right way. A way that helps us. This is why Cesc should be respected by all Arsenal fans even if Barca come back with a massive bid which we do accept in the end.

Sorry, but I've got to pull the OP up on something. Fabregas did NOT say that he is happy to stay at Arsenal; he said that he's happy at Arsenal. That's something completely different. It still means that he wants to move to Barca where, as we all know, he'll be even happier.

Just wanted to clear that up for you.

'Happy AT Arsenal' and 'Happy to stay at Arsenal'

That is hardly completely different.

You also forgot this bit:

And?

The main point he said was its in the hands of Wenger and the board. And once Fabregas refuses to push a transfer then its advantage Arsenal.

JHS of Arts...

You try talking any sense to Gooners and you get no where, mate! They cannot see any thing beyond their own noses.

Saying that you are happy where you are is NOT the same thing as saying that you are happy to STAY there. Fabregas has been very careful not to say that he intends to stay at AFC. And any Gooner who tries to tell me that if Fabregas was given the green light to move to Barca you wouldn't see his backside for dust would get my award for Blind Bat of the Year Award.

The main point of the article is that Fabregas today has made sure that its Arsenal that hold the cards. By going public with his love for the club he has made sure that Barca can't push him into a corner and tell him to go public about wanting to move. Fabregas has said he does not want a repeat of last summer so that means he is going to do nothing and let Wenger and the board decide if they want to sell or not.

Fabregas today has given us an extra year or more money. And either is better then what we could have had, if Cesc did not speak like he did today.
