So lads it's been confirmed that Brighton will face Liverpool for the 2nd time this season, this time in the FA Cup. A few months ago they put up a good fight before succumbing to a respectable 1 - 2 defeat, fast forward a few months and they now find themselves 10th in the Championship, on 41 points, 4 adrift of the the play - off spots.
Back in September when we played them in the Carling Cup, they were the home team, but the next game between the two clubs will be at Anfield. I'm hoping this game goes the same way as the Oldham game did.
How do you feel about the draw?
And for those who also watch the Championship, do you have any information on Brighton, their style of play, standout players, etc?
The future is Brighton!

You should beat them well. They're nout special. May sound like sour grapes which it partly is but they are really nothing to worry about if you don't have Shola upfront

Two home draws on the bounce! Something's gone wrong here. The FA should step in, criticise Dalglish, fine Suarez, and give the money to Our Sepp. He needs it honest. And if he doesn't want it, if he tries hard, really hard, he will, with a bit of luck, find someone else atvFIFA to take it off him. He is my hero!! jimmyTheRed

Don't worry Andy, both Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse are due for an early return to Newcastle after Senegal got knocked out. It may be a while before Ameobi starts again, I can see Cisse being ahead of him in the pecking order.

Brighton seemed to lose league form following that Carling Cup game. It was like the adrenaline of getting promoted was taking out of them, they were 3rd in the league at the time, now they've dropped, but it will still be a difficult game.

I watched Brighton last weekend against my local team Peterborough United.
They won 2-1 with a last minute winner courtesy of bad goalkeeping. They just about deserved to win, but they didn't play that well and bear in mind Posh are in their worst spell of the season and playing badly at the moment.
Any cup opponent has to be respected because you never know in the cup, but we really should be beating them at home relatively comfortably.
Dangermen? Craig Mackail-Smith up front used to play for Posh is lightning quick and works his socks off. He is not the best finisher but he loves the FA Cup and has a great record in it.
Will Buckley is a very lively wide player who has been in the goals lately. Deceptively quick, he drifts past players like McManaman used to.
They usually play 4-3-3 and play possession football. If we press high up the pitch and don't allow them time on the ball then we should monopolise possession and create chances as they are not great defensively.
If we allow them time on the ball they will create chances against us.

Cheers righteous1 (U7048), that was very helpful, thanks to you,I learned a lot about Brighton reading a few paragraphs.
Don't think anyone will bother discussing it further though, this thread died a good few mins ago, we've got still got the Evra booing dominating the list of topics on here.

Pathetic draw imo.
No big guns will go out so it was a bit of a waste
