United are still absolute class.

for example.. valencia is one of the most dangerous right wingers in the world.. rooney one of the best strikers.... they have some of the best young prospects playing in europe... hernandez, rafael, jones, even smalling, de gea...

they have one of the best left backs in the world...

giggs and scholes are still actually pure class.

i mean berbatov is class and he cant even get on the bench.

add to that they have fighting spirit, incredible work rate, and unbelievably good manager, and unreal mental strength.

united are still the real deal.

yes you are right.. fergie is the main man there and probably the best of all time.

Whilst, I agree they have some good players, you are going a bit over the top. They have been pretty well outplayed by every European team they have played this season.

Now one team outplaying them could have been just one of those days, but half a dozen teams from different European countries, surely tells us something about United being not quite as good as they are made out to be.

Good in the prem, but not in the grand scheme of things in European football.

Agree looking how easy Utd are making this, but I have said this before and got shot down for it, the PL standard has dropt big time,

Some will say it was a one off for Utd this season in Europe but I disagree, the standard of other leagues is getting stronger, I just don't see anything changing

With the money City gave spent I thought would have done better but come next season they will splash another 100 mil so it will make it harder for other teams in the PL to get good deals........it'd will win the league this year but is it one of the best leagues on the world

At the moment no flecking chance

United's premier league campaign has been boosted by failings in every other competition. United are certainly not as good as they have been, but they're definitely still good enough to win the Premiership, when it's only that they have to concentrate on.

yeah but are they any worse than they were last season.. when they got to the CL final.. and comfortably too....

they were bossed by barca in the final.. but barca are a freak of nature.. they are a phenomenon.

Valencia one of the best wingers in the world ....am I missing something yes a good player but fleck me your so far off the mark with that one

Europe proved that

United are a quality team of course, but they're definitely greater than the sum of their parts. No Vidic for most of this season has left them with a broken Rio and kids for CB's.

Johnny Evans must be SAF's finest work to date - he's looked shocking up till this season. As good as Scholes is the fact they didn't sign anyone to replace him very nearly cost them dearly.

I reckon without fergie they'd be in a fight for third

In response to the OP's question regarding the strength of the league as a whole I do think it's dropped a bit.

The "sugar daddy" effect is creating a similar situation to that in La Liga - a handful of teams that get the pick of players and pay wages far in excess of what the rest of the league can.

Having said that i'd still say the PL is more exciting to watch than all of the other European leagues as upsets can and do happen fairly regularly.

Plus, it's the only league Gareth Bale plays in

Valencia is a good player, but not absolutely world class, some of his crosses end up in row z, or fail to get pass the first man, as do a lot of wingers crosses in the prem. He looks good in the prem, but has not done it in European football yet.

Upsets do not happen that often, United have won something like 13 of the last 20 prems.

Sure you get the odd one, but no where near enough to really upset the applecart of teams like United.

To be fair <Citeh> and their billions had done a good job of upsetting that applecart till recently.

Spurs aren't doing too bad in embarrassing <Chelski> and their billions either.

I get your point though, I made a similar article before the Manchester sides were knocked out of the CL but seasons like this happen sometimes.

I still maintain the general competition is better than La Liga and the football better than the German or Italian leagues

Lennon is one of those players who is what I would call a headless Chicken

Theo is a better player, i mean I posted before Spurs were up there with the top 2 and you lit were slating Arsenal now I have a £50 bet that Arsenal finish above spurs and think my bet us save
