I agree Barmy and Xon. In a bad season Gillett has been consistently outstanding. Maximum effort in every match. By no means the most skilful, although he can hit a mean shot, he has harried and covered every blade of grass. We need to keep him for next season. And, while I'm at it, well done Gary Woods for coming back into the team and playing so well.

gillet player of season for me, no doubt

Gillett for me as well. He was outstanding at West Ham.

Interesting Saunders introduces one of HIS players in 2 games and we keep 2 clean sheets in a row. May be that So'D bloke wasn't all he was cracked up to be!!!

Player of the season I think I'll have to agree with Gillett, the only others that could be included have either left (Billy) or missed a lot of games through injury (Friend & Spurr)

I thought Lanzo would have gone for Coppinger!!!!!

I was busy right up to kick off time then had to go somewhere with she who knows best.
I had the phone on "live scores" and was in a supermarket when Hayter scored.
A few people gave me a funny look when i shouted out the customary "yeeessss".
Nice to get the win and yet another clean sheet.
I have to say that Gary Woods has looked much improved since he got back in the team.
Xon- just got we're not posting on here doesnt mean we aren't tuned in elsewhere matey.
I hope we get a reasonably good attendance next week to celebrate our time in this league.
Also, i'm glad Pompey got relegated today as it would have been a travesty if the result against us had helped to keep them up.

Listen to Dean Saunders interview on Player, I was told about the comment DS has made about 10 days ago. Let's hope it does materialise and next season maybe a better one than we think it might at the moment.

Listen and then comment.

Its really interesting Watson, miraculously now better, and Bramall back and involved in some way at the club!

May be an interest in the stadium/land?

Or could it be to counter McKay and make sure they look after their investment?

I don't think we will ever find out.

I want to see JR stay and Deano to become his own man. The club should distance itself from McKay. I don't know of many Agents that are good for the game!! if any

Unfortunately the old boys who have played so well in the last two games have to go and we have to accept that. Its a pity Deano never tried it sooner instead of the fly by nights and the exotic disco dancer.

I think that you will get your wish Alex, regarding McKay.

Micky,
I have been retired some time now and my advice is enjoy what you have right now as life has a funny way of kicking you in the teeth when you least expect it. Supporting Donny prepares you for most disasters though.

Thanks Alex,

I think I'll always remember your comment.

Everyone is asking me "What will you do?"

I've got a novel to finish - mainly aviation (my main career), but Donny Rovers are mentioned as the "hero" started life in Doncaster.

The "hero"is really a mix of my experiences and my boss at the aircraft leasing company I worked for. Of course, any likeness to anyone living is purely coincidental!

Wherever I live, the Rovers will be part of me. You can take someone out of Donny, but...etc., etc.

BIG pat on the back to deano! Has had an interesting week and but for a pathetic ref would have collected 7 points instead of 4! 1 game to go and I'm already looking forward to next season and what players he's got lined up! Friend before he got injured was player of the season hands down but since then agree gillets form of late has been brilliant.

NY , listened to the interview - sounds like great news if it comes off!! Hopefully this will stabilise the club and give Deano a fighting chance next season!!

Hound bud, it’s a very lonely place being a Donny fan in Malta.
Things like this are a life line matey.
I love reading what people have to say, it keeps me feeling involved.
Sorry if I offended anyone!

xondrfc:

I'm intrigued what Malta is like now. I've been once in 1966 as a two-week station at Luqa (Luqua?) with the RAFVR.

It was while England won the World Cup. We watched it on Italian TV with the sound turned-down and the Beeb on the radio.

That evening in Valetta we did not buy a drink as all the locals were happy England had won. Of course, this was pre-Mintoff days! (I think that was his name).

The good old days - a G &T was one shilling in the Mess - 4 pennies for the gin and 8 for the tonic!
