When it comes to death penalty being a deterrent or not, it is actually been argued either way. But it is nothing to do with why I am not completely opposed to it.

In the case of Islamic terrorism, I think the causes are obvious to honest thinking people.

The reasons I would consider it is because I consider terrorists to have fundamentally disregarded so many people in such a clear way, that it would be justice to execute them.

Well our respective views just re-enforce the real complexity of the Justice vs Vengeance debate

Losing yesterday isn't all bad. The players won't go into the summer as complacent as they might have done had we won the Double. Also there are no excuses for the club realising that we'll still need a big summer spend on players.

Costa kissed the badge after his goal. The guy loves it here imo
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Likes the club, but not London apparently. Luiz should let him move in to his pad witrth his other friends.

Would you wanna live with Diego ?

Taking costa and pedro off was stupid. Our only two players who really wanted it
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Wanting it?

That's as silly as the passion argument pundits used.

Everyone wanted to win today, if it was all about showing it through shouting and chest beating, you might as well get ten blokes out the Harding End to play each week.

Passion and wanting it is an irrelevance to winning matches, especially as no team wants to lose.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone in red wanted to win today.

Kante, Matic, Alonso, Cahill might as well have already been on holiday. If you can bare it go back and watch the match and look at how the Arsenal players were pressing our attackers compared to how we were pressing them.

I think everyone in Blue wanted to win too Obers.

But for some reason to many of our players just off form and were unable to find the required response to an Arsenal team that were fast out of the blocks.

If you look at many of our games this season we have started matches slowly and grown into games.

When playing against the stronger teams that can backfire, especially if you go a goal down as a result.

Paul Nuttall....Well he clearly has a great understanding of what motivates these people to bomb and kill, what a thick twat......

The thick tw at you're talking about is the bomber right? There are several people involved in a terrorist attack but only the pea brain blows himself up. Why should the others caught in the aftermath not face the death penalty? They are at war with our way of life.

I am not opposed in principle to death penalty for terrorist acts, but wouldn't want in a court system thatg works on a majority verdict system.

I dislike UKIP and Paul Nutttall, but it is true the death penalty is a popular policy, and aside from the lunatic quote of "I will do it myself if I have to", none of what he says there is that crazy.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
What is the point of the death penalty? It won't deter?

There have been loads of studies on this and the results are conclusive that people who are going to kill will irrespective of the DP.

With the Islamic fundamentalist terrorists dying is the aim anyhow...............so really not sure why the DP will deter them?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Biggish it is narrow minded to think that only someone who blows themselves up is a terrorist. Everyone involved in the organisation is a terrorist as far as I'm concerned if they support and encourage terrorist acts.

I hate how in the aftermath of a terrorist attack all the attention is on the pea brain who blew himself up instead of the bigger picture.

I don't buy that biggish at all I'm sorry. How can our players be off form when we were on a winning streak? And both teams should have been fast out of the blocks it was a Cup final! No excuses for being so lacklustre in that first half, Arsenal could have scored a hat full.

You could see from our response in the second half that we are the better team, I just feel some of our players were either very arrogant and thought it would be an easy win or thought our season finished when we lifted the title

Only players who come out with any credit for me are Courtois, Pedro, Costa and possibly Luiz

Our players get far too complacent and cocky after one title win

So we win the league and that means we don't have to turn up to win a cup final against Arsenal??

To be honest I think the league and securing CL football would have been the main aims this season, even just finishing in the top 2/3 from where we did last season. Anything on top of that was always going to be a bonus.

No excuse for how we played, but I think once the league was wrapped up that was the players on holiday mentally, F.A cup was probably seen as a bonus.

The critical error was conceding straight after equalising. Give it a couple of minutes for Arsenal to reflect they may have got rattled, overcommitted and we could have sneaked a late winner.

We'll never know though

As for next season the right signings will be important. I think as a minimum we need two players who can go straight into the first team. Don't think we'll sign more than 4 in total though, hopefully we can use Ake etc a bit more.

Will need some good squad depth though. At the minute (well through the season) any injuries to the likes of Kante,Moses,Luiz etc, we never really had anyone as good to cover.

Papers are putting us back in for Belotti as well, a long with Arsenal, that'll last a while through the summer.

Thought without Cahill it would've been a lot worse. I stand by what I said yesterday that there's a number of average players in our starting XI who played beyond themselves this season, and it really wouldn't surprise me if they start to get 'shown up' next season. At very least, alternatives and at best/most ruthless, replacements (improvements) are needed for them next season if we wanna carry on competitions at top domestically and in Europe

To what end Obers? Justice or Vengeance?

What will the benefits be?

Have you considered the negatives?
