Yeah that's a possibility but nothing at the moment to suggest they're in for him.

We'll need the 4 CB's and I see Ampadu being loaned out again so we might have to keep Zouma. I think he's better than AC and deserves a chance. When he played for us it was at RB or CDM and he was only 19-20 then.

In modern game defenders need to be good on the ball and under pressure in their own box from pressing teams.

I see no evidence of Zouma being capable of that.

To me, he is an anachronism.

Only City, Liverpool and possibly Spurs in the PL apply pressure to that extent. Majority of the teams we play against sit back so I don't see the difficulty Zouma will have playing a simple pass to his fellow CB or the full back next to him.

Jorginho and Kovacic provide good options and space in the midfield also so I'm sure he can pass to them as well.

Everton under Silva play from the back also, he's not struggled with them.
