Like I really don’t get it, your opinions can be so welcomed, like everyone else’s, but it can’t be fun or make you happier to bring up the same things again and again. We get you don’t think progress has been quick enough!

Would most of you agree that if we are in the same boat in January that something needs to be done? While I'm not expecting miracles by then I want to see some clear identity. At the moment I really don't know what we are trying to do. We aren't particularly good at anything.

Yeah I think provided there’s no key player serious injuries, I give him til the new year before I start calling for his head.

Worth mentioning our seasons normally go the opposite route, whereby we start well but go through a terrible run around halfway through.

Which is a scary thing to think about.

I think the team will click at random and we won't find consistency unless they buy Lampard a superb holding DM who papers over his tacrical flaws
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Imagine if Gilmour came back from fitness and emerged as the DM prodigy we thought we had pre lockdown
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think that's entirely possible.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think that's entirely very optimistic - but wow wouldn't it be brilliant

Went good cheers

I checked it was still 0-0 a couple of times and got a feeling without watching that wouldnt change

Did you have an extensive debate with her/him about historiographical approaches in relation to events during classical antiquity?

Or was it more boring than that?

I don’t even know how people ‘date’ during lockdown, kind of hard to meet people. Guess its mainly Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, and Match.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
theres nothing possibly more interesting than that so logically yes

and bumble
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's a dating app called Bumble... that's utter sacrilege to a cricket god

Or we could retrian Kepa into Fabrekepa the playmaking midfield pass master as I suggested yesterday...

I would agree by mid January that Frank has had enough time to show he can do the job or not.

Of course but everything isn’t created equal. We know frank hasn’t had a chance to field his best team. Two mendy starts, two clean sheets. Coincidence? We don’t know yet. I will give about 15 games before I start making judgement

15 months, the figurative monkey has not only escaped but died of natural causes
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't subscribe to the 15 month argument. Last season was unique for many reasons. It may have even helped Frank look to be a better mabage than he is, but it's still utterly irrelevant to this season.

He has a completely new and different set of challenges this season. There is no hiding place for him and he has to get the team to improve. It's much easier to evaluate him as a top club manager this season as he has been backed in the window and he chose where to spend the money. Personally I think we spent 50m too much on attack but time will tell. He is going to have to make 4 2 3 1 work or do a Conte and change his mind. His main challenge is getting the balance of the team right between attack and defence. One could argue last night was evidence of him beginning to try and find that balance. Either way, we will know by January.

For me lampard has basically been manager of two different sides, it’s not 15 months. Fact of it is he’s had 5 or so games with this side

My main issue with Lampard's management at the moment is I have literally no idea why he has both CMs constantly pressing in the opposition half. It must be an instruction and it constantly leaves us exposed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
At the moment I just can't see the logic of all our signings this window. By buying who we have we appear to have made Mount a spare part. He is our best presser by a country mile and for me the type of player I always want in my team, but there is nowhere for him to play in a 4 2 3 1 unless its for Havertz

Buying expensive players simply because they’re talented big names rather than because we know how to use them sounds like a dangerous policy

You can dismiss the 15 month argument if you wish but frankly I would expect team shape, positioning, balance and a clear style of play from a manager by that much time. Fundamentals of football frankly.

Rubbish excuse imo to say that because he got given lots of money we can ignore repeated failings and mistakes last season and now this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
well bearing in mind we've added 5 top class players in integral positions I don't think that argument entirely stands...

but in saying that I would think Lampard has had to say in who's coming in and should be able to integrate them into what he wants to see as some sort of finished picture
