Or possibly there's this as an alternative...

You can dismiss the 15 month argument if you wish but frankly I would expect team shape, positioning, balance and a clear style of play from a manager by that much time. Fundamentals of football frankly.

Rubbish excuse imo to say that because he got given lots of money we can ignore repeated failings and mistakes last season and now this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I ask what these repeated failings and mistakes from last season are? We finished top four and got to the Cup Final in a season where almost nobody gave us a prayer of top four going into the season.

What more were you expecting from last season exactly?

Would most of you agree that if we are in the same boat in January that something needs to be done? While I'm not expecting miracles by then I want to see some clear identity. At the moment I really don't know what we are trying to do. We aren't particularly good at anything.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course but everything isn’t created equal. We know frank hasn’t had a chance to field his best team. Two mendy starts, two clean sheets. Coincidence? We don’t know yet. I will give about 15 games before I start making judgement
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly. No Kepa = two clean sheets, no coincidence there. And so far this season our new signings have hardly even been available to play together. People need to give the team a chance to actually play. Pulisic and Ziyech have just come back from injury and Mendy and Silva have only made a couple of appearances each so far. Let's judge things after these players have been given a decent run in the side together.

God I hope Allegri isn’t our next target
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If Lampard is sacked for whatever reason this season then our new manager will very likely be Massimo Allegri. He totally fits the profile that the club normally go for and is a free agent. So for those here wishing that Lampard is sacked this guy would be our new manager.

Buying expensive players simply because they’re talented big names rather than because we know how to use them sounds like a dangerous policy

It is dangerous.

Yeah sack Havertz
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If and only if dropping Havertz improves the the.i haveno issue with that. I personally think he is goi g to ha eto fit in as a number 8 anyway as we eventually revert to 4 3 3. But this windoww did not address all ous issues from last season. Every one then agreed to that and said it would take two windows. I personally think either Ziyech or Havertz was a luxury signing we should have avoided this season and instead made signings that give us better balance. But that is done now.

And I am going to comment again on the match thread last night. It is of course my personal view but I want to get it off my chest.

I don't see the necessity during 90minutes of live football to constantly leverage one's view and narrative about the team and the manager. Imagine if you were sitting in the stadium and the fan next to you just slagged of everything that the players and the team and the manager were doing. Is that fun? Is that support? I don't think it is personally.

Fans criticism pre and post match about players ma agers etc is what this is all about and that is great.

But last night I felt there were people just wanting to put a downer on the whole game. It want objective in anyway and I didn't like it at all.

I am not wanting to upset people by writing this, but that is how the match thread made me feel last night.

No need to crap the bed anymore as long as Mendy plays. Silva as well ideally. In the two games Mendy has played we've kept clean sheets. That speaks volumes to me and indicates that the defensive problems we've had are not as sistemic as some have claimed. And much more down to the fact that we have been playing the worst keeper by far in the league.

If Kepa played for City or Liverpool then they'd be so much worse defensively as well.

I see mendy got motm lastnignt, I personally thought chillwell was. We had imo silva mendy and chillwell all 7 or above out of 10.

Havertz and James very solid.

The rest under par. Including my boy Christian
