I'm expecting Marseca's Pep clone reflex to activate again before Jackson's back, and we'll see some unconventional strikerless system.

Not even gunna throw out a guess, but it'll be weird.

Given Nkunku's efforts last Friday I think we already started this

I just don't see how we get this lot motivated....Villa are going to be utterly ruthless with us - we'll be chasing shadows & unlikely to mount any serious goal threat whatsoever...

It'll be pitiful - bookmark this

Oh...and they have a rejuvinated Rashford

If we do manage to get CL football next year, it'll be because we pipped Villa or Newcastle. I think City are long gone now. They basically did a picture perfect transfer window in terms of addressing obvious gaps/weaknesses in the squad. Can see them kicking on from now.

Wild what happens when the upper management team are working towards success on the pitch rather than just the balance sheet

I knew City spent money this Jan window but didn't realise they spent nearly £200 million. If we'd done that they wouldn't have shut up about it lol

They might have spent big in January because of a potential ban in future windows.

But yeah they've strengthened in key areas so they can remain in the CL which is why they'll probably finish 3rd now.

Yeah good point about their potential transfer ban. Although if that does happen they've got bigger problems to worry about like massive points deduction or even relegation.

Just one loan signing up front would’ve made a massive difference. The remainder of the season will be a struggle now.

Yeah just needed a focal point up front, a Giroud type player who can link the play and get on the end of crosses etc.

Palmer and the likes would benefit so much from having that type of striker I feel

I was saying this all through the Jan window. Desperately needed reinforcements could so easily have been brought in be it loan recalls or loan signings but apart from Trev we got nothing.

City acted which is why it looks like they're turning around their massive slump from the first half of the season and will now comfortably finish in the all important CL places when at one point that looked in jeopardy.

And the moral of the story isn't about spending big in Jan or even spending a lot of money at all. It's just about acting when reinforcements are desperately needed in the here and now. Especially when CL football is in the balance.

It’s because they’re panicking about the financials. That’s why they got rid of loads of players without bringing in someone.

The sounds coming out are the transfer ban is the worst we can expect tbh. Also the rules are getting wrecked by City's lawyers rn. If theres one thing i think i can count on our guys to do it would be to hire a good legal team

Yeah Sancho is a fair weather player, that seemed fairly obvious when he was doing well too. He's the last guy im looking at to drag us out from bad moments

Sancho isn’t a terrible signing for £25m.

I think it’s closer to the price we should have paid for Neto though, instead of more than double that amount.

Yeah for that money Sancho is a decent squad player or backup. Not great by any means and not a player you particularly want starting a run of PL games. Particularly in a low confidence team.

But we have to buy him this summer so we're stuck with him and I'd imagine his actual transfer value must be higher than the 25 mill we're going to pay. So worst case he can be moved on.

Depends on the wages Sancho will be on, he's been rubbish for months as well. No productivity whatsoever.

Feels similar to Felix in terms of him being luxury player z nice flicks and tricks but no end product

posted on 17/2/25

He had loads of end product in the Bundesliga. Watching him at Chelsea he doesn't seem to get very near to goal very often with good opportunities to score etc.

It's not like he's missing loads of chances from what I've seen, he's just not getting into positions where he can create and/or score that much.

Madueke's been more disappointing in terms of goals/assists for me considering he actually does seem to get forward into those danger positions more often but does little with it.

So did Werner lol.

Sancho just stays out wide, doesn't really take anyone on and hardly ever shoots. I think he's ok as a squad/impact player but I wouldn't be relying on him as a goal scoring winger going forward

posted on 17/2/25

I wouldn't either but he has an end product. We just haven't seen it in a Chelsea shirt. Seems tactical that he's told not to get into those positions which I don't really understand.

If I'm manager I'm telling Sancho to get forward and get in as many dangerous positions as possible.

Haven't seen that end product since he's come to the PL, I'm not convinced it'll ever come so I'd be buying a LW in the summer.

It's the same for Madueke and Neto, they don't seem to be the type that will be productive in the final third
