I like Sancho myself. Got question marks about his attitude but he's my type of winger. More elegant (bit like CHO) rather than hit the byline & cross (e.g. Neto). At 25mil I'm not complaining about that investment.
However, if he's going to be on the max limit of our wage cap at 200k/w (which is possible considering what United were paying him). It does make me think we should've just made an exception for Osimhen instead who was, allegedly, willing to drop from his 300k/w at Napoli to a figure to a more reasonable figure, probably 250k/w.
Don’t see the point in Sancho at all. He’s probably worth £25-30M so you could argue we’re getting value for money. But he’s not good enough for Chelsea. What’s the point spending £25M, £30M, £35M on players who aren’t good enough. We’ve got loads of them - Sanchez, Jorgensen, Disasi, Veiga, Badiashile, KDH - honestly, the list goes on. Wouldn’t it be better to spend that same money on fewer but better players?
Sancho is a good example of ‘systems’ player both tactically and in himself mentally. He did exceptionally well at Dortmund at such a young age with all surrounding factors going well for him. But I think it’s increasingly apparent, despite his talent, he’s not a player who’s gunna be ‘that guy’, drag teams through or perform when rest of the team isn’t performing.
Our wide players aren't being used correctly. All they do is hug the touchline, try to beat 2 players (with no support/overlapping FBs) and get a cross in to Jackson who is being marked by 3 defenders.
You rarely see them in the box or making runs in behind. Madueke was doing those things early on in the season but its been coached out of him.

That’s a fair point. We do often get the ball to our wide players, but all too frequently we get it to them so slowly that they are already double teamed. So they inevitably move the ball back and it’s rotated to the other wing.

He had loads of end product in the Bundesliga. Watching him at Chelsea he doesn't seem to get very near to goal very often with good opportunities to score etc.
It's not like he's missing loads of chances from what I've seen, he's just not getting into positions where he can create and/or score that much.
Madueke's been more disappointing in terms of goals/assists for me considering he actually does seem to get forward into those danger positions more often but does little with it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So did Werner

Yep, but he also missed a hell of a lot.
We were warned.
Nkunku I really thought would turn out better than Werner
the slander on nkunku is a bit much on here, Fella has barely played he didn't become a bad player overnight and is one of our top scorers regardless of who hes played against he came in and did a good job
You all know hes not a 9 so why is he being judged based on his perfomances as one?

Werner was quite an important part of a CL winning team though. For all his faults in front of goal.

I'd be surprised if anyone thinks he's a bad player, it's quite obvious he's got talent. His head's just not in the game.
It hasn't been for most of his Chelsea career. Whenever he came on last season he looked like a slapped @rse. Seemed OK at the start of this season, balloons all about the gaff lol, but I think deep down he's always regretted the move.
He’s being judged for lack of effort. Doesn’t matter which position you’re in.

Ngl, my hopes of Maresca ever changing strategy are pretty low right now. All evidence points towards him pushing through regardless of how square pegs in round holes he has.

That sort of stubbornness usually ends only one way...
They hired someone who managed two teams before and didn’t even do that well at those clubs. And both those clubs were in second tier leagues?
I've forgotten what Chelsea calibre managers were available in the summer cos our shortlist was so underwhelming
I'm chill about Marseca. I would've kept Poch & firmly believe we would've got top 4 with him (if we'd kept Gallagher!), but Marseca's fine. Seen things I like, seen things I don't.

This is no place for reasonable opinions, Devil.
. We need to win some football matches, calm everything down.
yeah if he figured something out and strung 3 wins together suddenly feeling a lot better
i just dont see the solution though
He's paid a lot to figure it out though
I want to see our wingers (what's left of them at this stage) get forward and make life hell for opposition defenders instead of what they currently do which seems to be quite little.

This is pretty much my thoughts exactly. I liked Poch and was certain he'd get us top4 this season, particularly with the larger squad. However, i think maresca has largely done OK, provided he steadies the ship fairly soon.
