Honestly football peaked for me the summer after we won our first CL

I fail to see, even by like an England WC win, how it can be topped

If Sancho’s contract expires at the end of the month, does that mean we could still play him during the club World Cup. I’m sure George would be delighted about that.

Yeah it was Olympics that summer as well, among other things.

I was thinking the other day that 2012 was probably the best year of my life.

That was actually a really bad year for me mentally speaking. But the sport kinda pulled me through tbh

I still think the biggest let down for me was Shevchenko. Although to be fair, he did have some good performances and a couple of brilliant goals.

Drogba has said a few times though he doesnt think he would have been as good as he was if he hadnt of played with Sheva, learned a lot from him apparently

We have had worse flops than him performance wise

Like how bad were Falcao and Higuain

I don't know for sure, but would suspect it's the latter — he was at the BBC before, who have a much higher threshold for reporting news than papers do. So, he's built a reputation as being the filter for proper transfer news, separating chaff from wheat.

In my lifetime as a fan...

Strikers that succeeded at Chelsea: Hasselbaink, Gudjohnsen, Drogba, Anelka, Eto'o, Costa and (arguably) Giroud.

Flops: Mutu, Kezman, Shevchenko, Pizzarro, Torres, Ba, Remy, Falcao, Pato, Batshuayi, Morata, Higuain, Abraham, Lukaku (twice), Werner, Aubameyang, Broja, Fofana... and I am probably forgetting some.

There were a few that didn't get a fair shake like Forssell, Crespo and Sturridge but yeah it's a damning list.

Tammy in flops is controversial sir

Also you cant say Etoo succeeded and then call Giroud arguable imo

Bought a lot of these strikers when they were over the hill

Some were just not cut out for this league

Tammy when Frank managed him was managing like 1 in 2

Ba and Tammy were decent. Can’t call them flops.

Remy was also a very serviceable backup in 14/15 to help us win the league.

At least none of those signings were expensive.

I miss the ITV champions league comms — it's up there with proper Barclays for nostalgia.

Have found BT Sports/TNT to be consistently underwhelming in their commentary.
