There might be something where I could help with academies and youngsters, giving greater opportunities to people from difficult backgrounds, if there was an initiative that could make a difference.

According to the new book Sanctioned: The Inside Story of the Sale of Chelsea FC, Ratcliffe called Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck the morning after a 1-1 draw with United at Old Trafford in April 2022 to request an urgent meeting. In that, it is claimed Ratcliffe tapped his chest repeatedly, telling Buck he had a piece of paper in his pocket with an offer for the club written on it.
Buck, (Marina) Granovskaia and Raine were left with the distinct impression that Ratcliffe was convinced his status as the sole bid composed entirely of British money and personnel set him apart from all competition, by virtue of the Government’s oversight of the sale and required sign-off,’ the book claims.
This tallies with an Ineos statement released at the time, which stated: ‘This is a British bid, for a British club.’
However, Ratcliffe’s behaviour apparently angered the other bidders and, as warned by Buck, he was too late, with Boehly and Clearlake told they had been successful despite the last-minute disruption.

Borussia Dortmund value the 20-year-old at £50m, but that is above Chelsea’s valuation for a player who does not fit into Niko Kovac’s preferred style of play.

Chelsea have communicated that they will pay a maximum of €15m to AC Milan for Maignan. Chelsea see the sale of Christian Pulisic to Milan in 2023 for €20m as part of their reasoning. Pulisic had just 12 months left on his contract, but was six years younger. Pulisic also plays in a position that commands higher fees. (@SJohnsonSport) #CFC

Chelsea have stepped up their pursuit of Ecuador midfielder Darwin Guagua, amid interest from Brighton and several European clubs.
The 17 year old Independiente del Valle midfielder recently made headlines in his home country after making his international debut against Chile in March before he had played a senior game for the club.
Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring the youngster’s progress.
Chelsea have a good relationship with Independiente, having completed a deal for Kendry Paez recently, with the club expecting a similar fee for Guagua.

That's especially true today as well. An open minded person today is a rare beast, people think what they think (usually with flimsy evidence to support it) and close their mind off to everything else. Gives them the illusion of purity & clarity in a very muddy world.
Truth is we'll never know what Abramovich thinks or what his motivations were for the things he's done in life. He might be evil, he might be a survivor, he might be an opportunist, he might be all three, but people will form an image of him regardless... the dog will always bark.

Something that will never change mate. Mass opinion based off of media or speculation or just a popular thought that may be very wrong, will always be the one that grabs the attention.
Think in life in general when you care more what people think about you and do more to change that, you'll never be happy.

‼️ The market reopens on June 16, and that gives Chelsea more time to sign players for the knockout phase, should they get there. The window to register new players at the tournament runs from June 27 to July 3.
It is one of the reasons Chelsea have not felt under pressure to get all of their business done by June 10.
