I don’t understand why Fermin Lopez is the answer to our financial problem but Xavi Simons isn’t. Not that I really care which one we buy - I can’t say I know too much about either player. But I thought we needed to sell a player who had been registered for the Conference league first, before we bought and registered a new player for the CL? Unless Lopez doesn't mind not being registered to play in the CL.

Oh wait - it could be the answer to Barcelona’s FFP problems?

He fits perfectly on the LW and for the middle when Palmer is being rested or rotated. Or if he's injured so there's no panic about what we do without Palmer etc.

Same. Though tbf we have done this a bit since those first 12 months where we lubed up for everyone.

Though I don't like how we do business, and I never will, we are working the market much better now. Getting good fees for players both in & out. It took Roman longer than this.

I do think 30-40 exits and sales every summer is not sustainable if we want to challenge for a title. You need a lot more continuity than that in my opinion.

But, we are flipping players for profit more readily that I expected so open to being proven wrong

I find it hard to identify with a squad when half of it changes every bloody season.

NPE says you need continunity to challenge for a title (and I agree), I need it to give a sh!t aswell.

We ripped up basically our entire attack this summer. Only Palmer and Neto are staying.

Out: Jackson, Nkunku, Madueke, George, Mudryk, Sancho, Chukwuemeka
In (probably): Joao Pedro, Delap, Estevao, Gittens, Garnacho, Simons (aware this could change)

This may or may not be justified and is likely an upgrade but it's a level of volatility that makes team cohesion hard and difficult for fans to build affection for players.

I expect a similar rip up will happen to defence and goalkeepers next season btw where only a returning Colwill, James, Cucurella and Hato likely survive.

AS Roma are getting closer to a deal for Chelsea winger Tyrique George.

They believe a €21m-€22m offer would be enough, with Chelsea keeping at least a 30% sell-on clause in his contract.
