Myhammers - it's funny actually, we haven't had lots of fans coming on our board WUMming us. You seem to have some grudge against our club, you deliberately mis-spell the name of our club, you are dismissive about what we have achieved over the years, and you are probably bitter because we relegated you a few years ago.

Don't lecture people on how they should behave on forums, you're in no position, and if this activity continues from you, you will be banned from our board.

Then perhaps you can lecture the admins on what a wonderful multi-team forum this should be.

In short; you are a tool.

It is unfortunate but I guess you just have to accept that the only players West Ham can attract are championship reserves.

when jussi signed his 4 yr deal erm 4 yrs ago!at the time i did think he would either retire/move on at the end of that deal.good luck to the lad its right he is going to have a crack at the prem at his age at a new club after all his yrs of service than sit on the bench all season in the championship.presume he will go to west ham wanderers.if anyone remembers before he signed on again last time there was a lot of speculation he was going to walk on a free.all this died down when sam was sacked at newcastle and he signed on no problem after that.

Your not happy with our back up keeper?

But your happy with our back up: centre back, right back, centre midfielder, left winger and striker? Step too far?

largehat: I deleted your comment as you had repeatedly complained to the admins and had my article removed. Hardly rocket science.

Yes, West Ham bought a lot of Bolt on players and got their former manager. This was because our owners felt we needed to play ugly in order to get results, and they don't come much uglier than Bolt on.

Most of us West Ham fans don't like Big Sam's tactics - it goes against everything West Ham has always been about. I hope he leaves us after another season and we go back to playing proper football.

posted on 30/5/12

myhammers, I also hope Big Sam leaves West Ham, then you can return to the glorious West Ham way and immediate relegation awaits.

The West Ham fans will never embrace the long-ball game in the way Bolt on fans do. It is so contrary to our ethos and traditions.
That's why Big Sam will never succeed, because he'll never fully win over the fans. Its a shame in a way, as I really like the guy. He's the kind of person you'd cross the road to shake hands with.

typical deluded west ham fan.if sam leaves after one season you will get relegated.be careful what you wish for.

I said the other day that West Ham seem to think they are some massive club in the same mould as Spurs, Everton, Villa and Newcastle, and that we have no history.
West Ham: 3 FA Cups, 1 Cup Winners Cup, 21st in all time top flight table, 23rd in terms of number of seasons in top flight.
BWFC: 4 FA Cups, 13th in all time top flight table, 12th in terms of number of seasons in top flight.
Apart from a larger fan base they are much more similar to ourselves.

I know you honestly believe this to be true. You really believe there is something special about West Ham United which involves high quality football. It's the biggest delusion I've ever come across in football. All my life West Ham United have been a struggling, yo-yo football team. They've had a few periods of passing football, but then so have we and so have most other clubs.

You honestly don't realise how laughable you are to other football fans up and down the country with this delusion.

It's amazing to me you think you are somehow using Sam Allardyce to get you promoted and you will ditch him once you are established in the PL. Does the fact that you have appointed a man who plays organised, direct football not tell you something about this so called ethos and tradition you speak of? Do you not realise that your version of history, that West Ham United play superior football, is inherently flawed?

You got relegated two seasons ago.

You would have been relegated about 5 seasons ago but you signed an illegal player who scored the goals that kept you up.

We relegated you 8 years ago.

You're just an average yo yo club with the most deluded supporters in football, a journeyman squad, living a lie.

Wham are one of those boring clubs that spend some time in the Prem but are more associated with Div 1, a bit like Charlton or QPR.

To try to establish themselves in the Prem, they are trying to re-create the Bolton model of the last decade.

Boring club; always will be.

thats why we always beat you every time we play you

West Ham always seem to do particularly poorly against the long-ball merchants e.g. Bolt on. There's no disputing that.

As for our style, playing the proper way is part of our club. We may get relegated a few times, but take pride in the way we attempt to play the game.
That's why it was such a shock and a big deal when Big Sam was appointed. He goes against everything we stand for.
I'd rather we finished 15th and play proper football, than to hoof it and finish 10th. Unsurprisingly, that's something Bolt on fans may find hard to comprehend.

As for Tevez saving us, do you know how many goals he scored that season for us? 7.

posted on 31/5/12

Didnt Tevez score the goal at OT to keep you up? Anyway so you are saying that West Spams philosophy is to not really care where you finish, whether you win games or not as long as you 'play the proper way'? Good luck with that.

posted on 31/5/12

Tevez scored the goal at OT. That was one of the 7 he scored. A season is 38 games long. Context!

West Ham fans - rightly or wrongly - have always placed a lot of emphasis on proper football. That's why there was an outcry when we were linked to George Graham years ago.
The reason we took SA was because the club was in a dire position. We needed to get back up and have some stability.

Of course, we do care where we finish. We would prefer to hoof it and stay up than player properly and go down.
That's different from finishing 10th and finishing, say, 12th. Like I say, that's something Bolt on fans might find hard to comprehend.

posted on 31/5/12

So you acknowlege that the most important goal Tevez scored, and the main reason behind the controversy, was the goal that kept you up, the one that if it had not been scored would have probably sent you down. Glad we put that into context.

Football is a results game and to get results you have to play to your players strengths in order to move up the league. Bolton were always known as a 'long ball' team who were hard to beat and it worked for us. Through playing that way we gained success and through that success we were able to attract better players.

We started off as 'hoofers' but as the seasons went on we adapted. We signed the likes of Diouf, Okocha, Djorkaeff, Campo, Anelka, Stelios. These were not long-ball merchants and contrary to popular belief we played some very good football. See the link below for a good example of this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgoyO1QbtAM

While we had these players capable of the flair, we also had Super Kevin Davies, Abdoulaye Faye and Bruno N'gotty who brought the toughness and old fashioned way of play for when we were playing against better flair players in the likes of Arsenal.

Sam is a clever tactician, he knows when to play a certain way and studies the weaknesses of the opponents. We bullied the likes of Arsenal and got consistent results. We also beat your rabble every time. Give Sam time and he could be great for you, but if the fans carry on their delusions and expect to be successful whilst trying to be Barcelona with the wrong type of players then you risk losing a great manager.

Myhammers

Bearing in mind that we have been in a different league to you all last season, I imagine you don't know our footballing style as you haven't seen much of us.

We don't hoof ball anymore. We attempt to play the game on the floor, utilising the likes of Holden and Petrovs good use of the ball. Kevin Davies (who seems to go hand in hand with 'hoof ball' hardly played for us last season. Coyle has tries to faze him out of the team.

Also, we has up to 7 injuries to first teamers last season at some point throughout the season, and we still managed to secure the most wins for a relegated team, ever.

Now that we have 2 of our best players returning, along with another young, exciting signing ready for next season, we stand a great chance of getting promoted at the first time of asking.

I don't think many people appreciate your concern for us, as I predict that it isn't genuine and I KNOW that it's based on your perception of our footballing style, rather than fact.

So, congratulations on your promotion to the big league. See you there in 2014/2015 season.

I dislike Bolt on. I was delighted to see them finally go down. Sorry!
My reason is simply because they are/were a long-ball team. And I don't mean for one season. It was your ethos - it defined you. It was a case of win at any cost. The same applies to those other Premiership pariahs, Stoke.

It's one thing when a lower league club with no resources adopts the long-ball in order to survive, but for cash-laden Premiership clubs to habitually do it is unforgivable.
Maybe Bolt on have changed, but that tag does not go away after just one season.

As for next season, it will be tough. Leicester have money to (mis)spend. Birmingham, Wolves, Blackburn and Blackpool are among the favourites. Cardiff invariably make the play-offs.
I think you'll be top 6. Not sure about automatic.

posted on 31/5/12

As you say, it was a case of win at any cost - maybe West Ham should've applied the same ethos, eh?

Thanks for your prediction. Clearly you know the league from your recent experience of being there. So I'll tell you a bit about how your players will struggle in the prem.

The league is too fast for players like Taylor. He has the turning circle of a 747 and will rarely make it into the oppositions half, never mind the final third.

Your strikers aren't good enough. Cole was useless last time he was in the prem, Bolton suggested that Vaz Te isn't good enough for the prem and nobody Premiership has ever taken a chance on Maynard even though he has been available before he moved to you.

You need some serious development as I don't think that you have one player of real premiership quality.

Not even Jussi.
