is it like that film ;The Hills have Eyes'
Great photo that. Must be in the 80s.

No Strabanes in the 80's
By the way 'The Troubles are over'
More like Deliverance , than "The Hills Have Eyes".
That photo was taken last week Trigger
Do you reckon Godfather plays the banjo then?

Your right there Trigger , i heard the 2013 MTV Awards is coming from a field on the outskirts of Strabane.
Uncle Hugo is presenting it , along with such acts as Foster & Allen and Daniel O'Donnell. Bring your own moonshine though.
Whit? U talk some balls alexia. Your from newtonards, where is that again?????
Newtownards? Really? News to me Trigger.
NewtonAbbey then. One of those Newton places.
Dear oh dear, first you say im from Belfast ,then Newtownards and then Newtownabbey. All the while spelling it wrong Trigger. Anyways bit of info....
At the 2001 Census, Newtownabbey Urban Area had a population of 62,056, making it the FOURTH largest settlement in Northern Ireland.
Compared to this - On Census day on April 29, 2001 there were 13,456 people living in Strabane. Strabane was once the most bombed town in Europe per size and was the most bombed town in Northern Ireland. Sounds like heaven!!!!!!!
So 6 times as many people live here in Newtownabbey , and you havent heard of it! Brilliant haha
No idea where your getting your population figures as Strabane has a population of 21,000. Wiki says 20,000 but strabane council say 21,000. And no way has Strabanes population risen that much in ten years. Anyway Newtonabbey?Newtonards?Dundonald? Belfast? its all the same to me. Ive rarely been to that part of the world.
Did you actually read what i wrote above? It says the "2001" census , not 2011 . Of course there is gonna be a population growth within 10-11 years.
Only pointed this out because of this comment - "Your from newtonards, where is that again?????"
Um , somewhere 6 times the size of where you live. And Newtownards is in County Down. That ends todays geography lesson, Trigger. Tomorrows lesson is maths , 2 times tables. Break you in easy :D
Alex
Where abouts in N'Abbey are you fae mate?Used to live in Merville before emigrating to Carrick.
South East Antrim all the way...........
Lived in M/town for 25 years and live near Rathfern now bluebell. Merville is a good spot , played footie with a guy from Merville for a lot of years.

Now now Alexia dont be getting your panties in a twist ffs. As I said before its all the same to me. And if you did the math you would see Newtonabbey is three times bigger than Strabane, not six
I used to play with a couple of Rathfern Rangers guys on the astra turf at the Valley, and 5 a-side indoors there and at the Shankill.
I was pretty average, but good fun up to a few years ago.
Mum lives in Merville so I am there most days and it is a peaceful wee spot.
Used to ride bikes and party with guys in Monkstown in the 80's,when the Ivy and Jordy were the local bars.
Only drank in Cloughfern Arms once, playing pool upstairs.
Seriously Trigger, you must be on the wind-up because nobody can be as daft as you. And i quote again -

That was the 2001 census figures for Strabane and N/Abbey. 2001. Two Thousand And One. 2 0 0 1. Not 2011/12. God , your hard work
I played for Rathfern for 13 years bluebell
Cheers Mango.
How's the craic in downtown Strabane on a wet Tuesday?
We were having private conversation there, but culchies can lack manners at times, and make fools of themselves socially............
Alexia, now i will say it again, where are you getting those figures? the population right now is 20K, so Nabbey cant possible be six times bigger than Strabane unless its population in 100,000 which it most certainley is not.
If im a culchie then so is Alexia.
