Arkum Asylum is one of the best games I have played. Haven't got round to playing city, but will defo have to give it a go as the first was so good!
I've done the same thing with AC!! I can't seem to get past more than a couple of hours. Nothing catches me. I will get around to it eventually but I still find myself going back to older games. I don't know how to explain it really. This has never happened with other games. I finished ghost recon even when I hated it just to get it over with.

I agree about the "too many storylines" comment. Your attention can get carried away with this game but as soon as you focus on a Mr Freeze or Joker based mission you soon find the game catches up with you. I haven't played as Catwoman so i wouldn't know your gripe with that. The Riddler trophies are a fantastic addition to the game and can be collected at any time during the game (that is assuming you get ou of the Asylum)

I prefer AC
I liked that it had you had a lot of things to do, AA was too short if anything for me, and the boss battles were too repetitive
I agree with the Catwoman point, I don't really enjoy playing as her, I just want to get back to the story, so it feels like a drag. It's annoying that riddles aren't activated from the start too, you go past quite a few and you can't answer them.
I feel AC utilises the villains better, in AA you only ever really see them for boss battles, 1 with Bane, which seemed like playing a bigger Titan monster, 3 with scarecrow, all were pretty much the same, Killer croc you see once. In AC they're more immersed in the actual story, rather than being merely Jokers pawns. I like that it's Joker v Two Face v Penguin. I don't really like the ending in AA either, it's a bit strange and uncharacteristic for the Joker to do what he did.
Arkham City did improve on Asylum in many ways but where it fell down was in terms of the main plot.
In Asylum, it started from a basic premise of catch the escaped Joker but built from there adding more layers onto it.
In AC, the plot feels confused. I never felt I knew if my main goal was to stop Strange or Joker? Their stories never really tied together effectively for me either.
I think the main plot was to stop Strange. You go to the Joker to question him but then he tricks you and you have to meddle about with Freeze and Penguin
i thought they were both well good, was slightly disappointed with the ending of Arkham Asylum and there were loads of things going on in Arkham City but it was a brilliant game, enjoyed both
Ra's al Ghul was one of my favourite bosses in the game.
Saw DKR today Makes me want to start AC up and play it properly.
I haven't finished AA yet but I love it
Plan on getting AC later this summer
AA is a great game and had a more focused storyline AC feels very widespread to start with but as the game draws on I found myself being drawn into the story.
JAG The Ra's al Ghul boss is great, I just was annoyed at the part where you actuallly had to get to him by gliding.
I also feel that AC tries to set up a lot for the next installment with characters appearing and leaving before a decent resolution of their sidequests (Wont leave any spoilers here)
The end to AC is very surprising too- never saw it ending like that
Got like an 80x combo on AC yesterday
Its has to be AC by a narrow margin!
But obviously AA has originality!!
Is there gonna be another one?
Right I've just got through the part where you have to rescue Mr Freeze from Penguin and I must say that's more like it. Great bit of gameplay/story there. I hope it's like that for the rest of the game now.
Had to chuckle at the part where he kicks the sharks ass in the iceberg lounge and also found myself making a joke about using the bat shark repellent spray (Anyone who dosent get it watch the beginning of the Adam West Batman movie- well worth it)
AA is a much better game I reckon.
Tighter story and just overall a tighter gaming experience.
Despite the wonderful grappling around the city, AC was too bloated for me in just about every way. Muddled story, too many gadgets, too many riddles (unless you're a student with loads of time), too many baddies (lost focus).
Great value no doubt if you have 50+ hours to master the mechanics and complete everything, but I don't, so AA was perfect for me, completed everything except all the (super tough) combat challenges. In AC I forget why, but there is a technique to pass the combat challenges really easily.
Still a very good game, but not great as AA was.
Saw the film yesterday - very disappointed.
AC was better, it gives more freedom, plus i prefer the more varied story. Don't like the catwoman parts though, they're boring and predictable. The ending to AC was a suprise too, i won't give it away if you haven't completed it yet, but it's a shock, and maybe a large misjudgement from rocksteady to even do this.
Plus Mark Hammill really kicks ass in AC, the whole ill joker scenario is good.

Kimchi, I think it was something like switching the ability for batarangs to cause damage and then running away and spamming enemies with quickfire batarang attacks ....I tried it out a while back and got a trophy for finishing a round without taking a hit
Are those question mark thingys the 'medals' you earn for each challenge completed?
