As far as I can tell SKD getting 1 in 5 is fine, Ngog getting 1 in 6 isn't

1 in 6??

That's wishful thinking. Try 3 in 33 or 1 in 11 and you'll be closer to the mark.

I was looking at his entire career. Either way, my point stands.

I can't see a problem either way here. If he stays, i'm sure he'll perform at this level. If we get the money back on him, that's a result too.

If pushed, I probably just about would prefer him to stay. But it's too close to call really!

I agree with CEF. As long as we are readying a replacement rather than fumble in the dark as per usual

I also think Ngog is a good player, better even than KD has ever been. I think he will shine this year but maybe Afobe will be the star. I dont know enough of him yet.

I'm not sure about Ngog. He doesn't seem to be a natural goalscorer. And I don't think we bought him to hold up play. Didn't we buy him as a goalscorer?

I always thought Ngog was signed as a long term replacement for Davies, he's not been bought based on his goalscoring ratio as he's never been prolific.

Not a chance. We would not have had half the trouble we had last season if he had been as good as skd in his pomp. He was easily dealt with far too often. Skd put the fear of god into CBs

This idea that Ngog will shine this year is fine but skd shone in the Premier League and to say that ngoghas to drop a league to be good tells you everything when comparing the two.

Petrov, Davies flopped in the Premier league when he was N'gogs age .....

Moses read that statement that I was referring to before you jump in with your desperate attempt to tell me Ngog is better than skd has been because Coyle signed him. I have said I think he is ok but would never say that a guy that flopped last season and contributed to the whole disaster of last season is better than a legend like skd. What next is he better than lofthouse ever was ?????

Fair comment LH, but if that's the case, it's a pretty poor replacement IMO.

Moses can you explain why pratley is better than ockocha was?

posted on 12/8/12

I'm not saying he is, just that there is still time for him to develop.

Maybe you should read the comments then and add to my disregard of the comment

Well no, my comment was stated to show that there was room for improvement ......

So do you think Ngog now is better than skd has ever been?

posted on 12/8/12

No, I do not, Davies is one of my favorite players ever.

I was pointing out, however that he wasn't the finished article until he came to us, so there is still time for N'Gog.

SKD did flop in the premiership when he was N'Gogs age. That's true. In fact, neither Blackbun or Southampton wanted him. We took a gamble and it paid off, so much so that he is regarded as a legend nowadays.

Why can't we give N'Gog the time and patience that we har SKD? You never know, with some support and patience, he could turn out to be a legend too.

He should be the finished article moses considering that Owen Coyle valued him at almost 3 times what L'pool originally paid for him 3 seasons earlier.

Also, how long can we keep buying players for good money who are "not finished".

N'gog - 4mil (definately not finished)
Sordell - 3.5mil (not good enough to start for us yet)
Alonso - 2.2mil (nowhere near good enough yet)

We're on a very tight budget, yet Owen Coyle keeps spending all our cash on "potential".

Resale value.

Or do you want us to buy more players like Elmander, Knight, Taylor, Steinsson, Robinson and Ricketts who had practically no resale value. You know, like Megson did.

Bricks, why are you trying to, yet again turn another article into a Coyle article?

Its getting a bit boring now ....

This article is about N'gog, no one else, why don't we try and keep it that way?

posted on 12/8/12

We got 2.5mil for Taylor largehat which is exactly 2.5mil more than we have received for a Coyle signing.

In fact, prem clubs only seem to be interested in our players that Coyle didn't sign!

Simple answer to that one Bricks is until the selling club drop their prices for the unfinished potential players.

The market has and always will be set up in favour of whoever is selling these days - which is why Fletcher at Wolves is apparently worth £20 million.

Don't even go here Bricks, your uncle Gary blew a fortune and OCs still having to pick up the pieces, just accept the truth.
