It's frustrating at best. Beckford won't be coming, not even when the loan window opens.
So who is available?
He realised what a tinpot club you were?!
In all seriousness you don't want him anyway, I'm not one of these Leeds fans who thinks the sun shines out of his a-rse, he's lazy and his attitude stinks, personally I think he's bad for the dressing room and although he might hit the back of the net a few times I wouldnt want his ego back at elland road.
You can get better. Although I think hammils a cracking signing, he was awesome at Barnsley and I was disappointed we didn't try get him when he went to wolves but it turns out a scabby fiver and a bag of cheese and onion wasn't enough!
As I said post Cardiff you'll be fine this season even without Rhodes
Vaughan looked sharp last week so he can step up. Just got to pray he stays fit.
Under no doubt we'll exploit the loan market and there is money available for January.
Hammill will be a huge hit, I'm sure of that. I expect we'll go in for him permanently if the price is right.
As our giro-collecting cousin said, we'll be alright
Maybe Leicester saw us as more of a rival, ? Anyway i'm sure Church will be a done deal next week. As for today, perspective, at Cardiff we played really well, with no end product.
We have Vaughan now, a team with confidence, was goin
Like you said Jacko, Leicester pulled the plug! After today town have 2 weeks before next game, so loan window is an option! Some fans will moan, but let's not forget that we signed 8 cracking signings over summer, anyone slating Dean Hoyle is really not getting that he won't be held to random like he always says!
On another note what happened to all Arroloui predicted signing? Cas called 5/6 on Twitter.
Your fat thumbs press 'send' by mistake Wethers?!
Ing for a win, but will take a draw.
Annoying isn't it?
I'd take a draw away to pretty much everyone this season, as long as our home form remains good we can finish top half I reckon.
I think L V deserves us to use his match thread now!
tend to agree we can do better than beckford..Next week when everything has calmed down and clubs can't fleece us for t/f money anymore, we can have a look at who's left. I've no problem with the fact we haven't spent, we did all our business before ...and as Clibbens said, we aren't going to get mugged by the likes of Dundee Utd ..£3.5m ? they're having a laugh...or celtic....or anyone else....
We'll only play one up top today so it's no problem really.
Don't know why it fell through. I suspect it might have something to do with wages - "we'll take him but we want you to pay half his wages...." . You can see why that might not appeal.
Personally I am pleased we still have him but unfortunately, our grumpy git manager clearly is not.
This is a player who divides opinion. There are plenty of Leicester fans who would offer to drive him there. But I think Larry would probably get the best out of him and I still believe Beckford is a 20 goal a season man.
So although I'm please he is still here, I am equally sure his tenure is fast coming to a close.
Are you people for real ?
8 M for Rhodes and you want Beckford on loan!
So much for your super Chairman, happy to take the chicken fiddlers money but wants to keep it in his pocket......thought you had a bit more class than your near neighbours but, give you a few quid and you think your big time.........mmmmmmm
Think we're big time because we're no mugs?
Football success is not always achieved thru throwing money at stuff. You'd think a Leicester fan would understand that more than most but obviously not.
Maybe you should just go 'fox' yourself
SuperNomark....Just cos you ripped the Chicken farmers off for a few quid youre still the narrowly promoted third division poor relations of Yorkshire.....whether you choose to believe that or not, that's how most everyone else sees you....and youre totally correct about knowing what it's like to throw money around but more importantly we know when some cheeky upstart is trying to Rip us off...back to your own board now sonny jim....
8 signings in the summer Fox! Hardly keeping the money in his pocket. Throwing money at the problem doesn't solve it in football. You found that out last year by all accounts.
I can't understand why we want players on fackin loan, all tho the fox is a ass wipe, i tend to agree with him about the loan With us with 8m in the bank.
This is on the Huddersfield board too Fox
I don't know why the deal fell through, but I'm very much in the "ok player, poor attitude" camp and was happy for Beckford to leave. With this in mind, my speculation is below:
1. Beckford thinks he's bigger than Huddersfield and had a strop
2. Hudd wouldn't pay enough of Beckfords wages to safisfy Leics and Beckford probably refused to take a cut
3. Maybe we had a replacement lined up and it fell through.
I like Grayson and Huddersfield so I wish you well this year, but in my opinion, you and us are better off without Beckford.
Didn't solve what problem?
We don't have a problem, just ambitions to return to the Premier.
Our squad is healthy and playing well (although a bit of luck wouldnt go amiss) and we have no money worries and importantly we do not rely on one mans money.
All you misguided people who think we expected to buy our way to success established that as a fact because it suited you to do so...as for the Leicester view..we are just grateful to have such brilliant support from our Thai owners.
You tried buying your way out last season and You fell flat on your face end of.
For the record .......
Leicester City spent nothing last season ....we had no money...fact
Our Thai benefactors appointed Sven to raise our profile in the Far East.....fact
For all the money Sven wasted on fees and wages our Thai owners paid the bill and got rid of both Sven and whoever Big Nige did not want.....fact
Big Nige has been given the cash to buy whoever he wanted to bring in....fact
Millions have been spent on our infrastructure ground, training ground etc with no possible return to our owners.....fact
Our failure last year in just missing out on the play offs would be deemed as successful to most of you azzoles who seem to be consumed with jealousy because we have enough money to be considered one of the big players in this league......FACT
In conclusion why don't you concern yourselves with your own club instead of being so concerned with us and by the way if you want to buy one of our players, pay the money or go away.......
Isn't your new 'stadium' modelled on a B and Q Store ?
All is not well at the flat-pack.
According to leicester pity fans, they were going to walk it last season....what went wrong?
